 + -1 moreIt went wonderfully. My description of the work he did doesn't do justice to the time he spent and the details he attended to. Kent arrived in the morning and worked during the day. He was usually here when we got home. The problem was that we did not have a kitchen while he was here, so he worked hard to get the job done as quickly as possible. He cleaned up the work area every day. And he was a big help when it came to making decisions. He was able to help us visualize what the kitchen would look like when finished. He is a very accomplished craftsman. For example, we purchased $150 chairs from pottery barn to go with the kitchen table he built and it looks beautiful. In the past Kent has done other work for us, including major structural work to our barn and opening up (removing walls) our front porch. We have used KMJ in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
Description of Work: Kent Marshall, owner, remodeled our kitchen. He removed the drop ceiling and removed the plaster and lath ceiling above it. He reinforced the floor joists above the ceiling because he noticed that when our girls were in the upstairs bathroom it sounded like the 2nd floor was going to collapse! He added canned lighting and supervised the wiring of lights. He also removed a wall, which required moving the refrigerator and water lines. Since the refrigerator needed to be moved he removed some cabinets and counter tops. To make the move look natural he built new cabinets and cabinet doors with glass panes. He replaced the ceiling and upper walls with drywall. He removed the basement door and installed a sliding barn door. He built a new wall and soffit to cover the chimney and plumbing. Finally, he built us a new kitchen table from scratch to fit our space perfectly. He also built a butcher block counter top to fit between the stove and refrigerator.
