Ace Sealcoating

When it comes to asphalt paving, Ace does not do their own work, they use sub-contractors. So my rating for the quality of the work and value for the money is for the subcontractor, not for Ace. When the subcontractors damaged our garage floor, I sent an email to Ace to see what could be done. I then sent numerous photos. When I called Ace to see if they knew how the damage occurred and hopefully offer to have it fixed, Adam, the owner, launched into attack mode. What followed can only be described as an uncontrolled tirade. This man clearly has serious anger management issues. He was unbelievably rude, belligerent, confrontational, and hostile. He pointed the finger, shifted the blame, made accusations, and basically came up with any excuse he could think of rather than try to work with me on a fair and equitable resolution. I felt like he was challenging me to a bare knuckle street fight when all I was looking for were answers and a solution. By the time he hung up on me, I was in a state of shock. When I later resisted paying the balance until an independent 3rd party could assess the cause of the damage they became agitated and desperate to get the money, offering multiple discounts instead of being reasonable and working with us towards solving the problem. I understand that accidents happen, and I have experienced more than my fair share of home improvement "incidents" during my years as a homeowner. What differentiates one company from another is how they handle the situation when an accident does happen. In this respect, Ace failed the test in every way imaginable.
