. I bought a Raven lawnmower in May from Lowes. It was advertised as being a multi-purpose mower with ATV capabilities. Not true. It got stuck in the mud twice. The tires are not special tires, so slip and spin all the time. I tried to tow a piece of tree with it, as seen in videos, and it snapped the tow bar right off the back. The mowing blades stopped working, so in August Lowes came and picked it up for service. Meanwhile, I asked for my money back and the kept giving me the brush off. I spoke to numerous people, including the store manager and assistant manager. They said they were working with their corporate office to try and get me an exchange, since they said they couldn't refund my money after the first 30 days.
This went on for about three months. All this time the Raven sat at Lowes, because when they called to return it, I told them the situation and said I wanted my money back or at least a different mower in exchange, or store credit. Finally in November this year, a woman called and said they were sorry but corporate refused and I had to take my crappy mower back. They were supposed to call and let me know what time the following day they would deliver it, but didn't call, so I was not home when they dropped it off. Now one of the two mower blades works, but the other doesn't, and hasn't. The two bar was in the back compartment, not fixed. To add insult to injury, several of the tires had small plastic circles stuck in them with staples. When I pulled them out, the tire went flat. So now I have a mower that is actually worse than when I gave it to them.
I have just called to get it picked up again to finish the repairs. Strangely, the person I spoke to didn't even ask what repairs were needed, and I have to wait for the delivery manager to call and schedule a pick up. This mower has spent more time at Lowes and in repairs than at my house cutting grass!! I am disgusted with the lack of customer service. This Raven is a piece of junk, and Lowes is just compounding the problem. My next step will be to write to the CEO and complain. I'm also researching lemon laws to see if I can recoup the four thousand dollars I spent on this piece of junk. This is not the first problem I've had with Lowes, both this location and one at my former address. It's a poor company, and I won't shop here anymore.
UPDATE: Lowes called to tell me they'd give me a full refund because they can't repair the Raven "to your level of satisfaction." Yes, how outrageous of me to expect to have both mower blades working and all four tires functioning. I'm glad to have gotten a full refund, but this non-apology, that makes it sound as if I'm being unreasonable did not convince me to bring my business back to Lowes. I will not shop here again.
We're done with this business for good.
