Joel had previously done 2 roofs for us...fair price, great communication, professional work. Due to the positive experience, we contracted with him for a bathroom renovation. Totally different experience this time. Lack of communication, subpar workmanship, project mismanagement. After 9 weeks we finally told him we wanted to terminate the project. Our deposits amounted to more than the work that was done. Tried to work out a refund of our money with Joel, couldn't agree on an amount. Decided we would accept his number just to be done with the situation, haven't heard from him since. Got a lawyer involved, Joel said he would respond within 14 days, but we haven't heard from him. We will be taking him to small claims court.

Full house siding job was done well and quickly once it got started. Joel was thorough and made sure everything's was completed as requested. Downsides, be prepared for workers to be on location from 8am to 8pm or later. Also, had to wait almost 8 months for the job to start after the initial estimated start time. I suppose it's a testament to their work that they are booked (maybe overbooked?). Would recommend provided you aren't on a timeline and can take an off-site vacation while they work!

Joel has been very professional in responding to my request. He was very courteous and responsive. I felt he was very clear and transparent in explaining what is needed and what the detailed costs were in the formal estimate (compared to others that I also solicited). In fact, after opening the roof he mentioned that a couple of other plywood pieces were rotten which needs replacement not quoted in the first estimate. I did not anticipate the extra cost but was satisfied with his detailed explanation. I would surely reconsider him for future work

Joel, the owner, was responsive, timely, and considerate of our input and many questions. We'd an easygoing exchange between us throughout the process, which was not a lengthy one, as his efficient crew worked energetically till nightfall to complete the work staying just ahead of the impending rainfall. Joel has a good eye for detail and was present to assess his crew's work throughout the day, which further reinforced our appreciation of him, which helped keep us relaxed throughout the project. Additionally, as the cost was competitive, we're certain that when the need for a contractor presents again in the future, we'll call Ventura Contracting for whatever project we find we need help with.

First job was a roof replacement. I researched a handful of contractors and chose him. He was moderately priced but had the best value for the dollar. He was also able to get to the project sooner. He and his crew were always there on time. Did a good job and left everything cleaned up. Very professional. A couple of years later that roof developed a leak. (It happens.) He came out the same day I called him and had it repaired. No charge, of course. A year or two later another older house I own and rent developed a moisture problem. He came out on the same day I called him. He spent 1.5 hours on the job investigating the source of the leak and then repaired it. Didn't charge me anything because I was one of his "customers". Joel Ventura is the contractor I want. He is timely, not over priced and very professional. He stands behind his work and his reputation.

J. Ventura Contracting recently completed work on my roof. It was a large job and I understood going into it, this would be a major roofing project. Joel and his team made the experience easier than I ever imagined. They were easy to work with. and whenever I had a concern, the whole process was explained to me. They guys went beyond my expectations, especially since we had a major snow storm right in the middle of the project that dumped 40 inches of snow on the area where I live. The team didn’t let it slow them down much, as they came ready to shovel out and resume work. I had seen and heard horror stories about roofing, and I was honestly scared to get this project done. Joel and his team were professionals and it showed. The price was reasonable and the end result looks great.
