They were hired to do power washing, brick pointing, & repair a loose step. They started with power washing which didn't go too well and at a certain point a worker broke my water pipe and hose. Water was bursting and I had to shut off the main water line. The worker wanted me to ask my neighbor to use his water and hose to finish the power washing. Are you kidding me? When they finally finished the power washing, he looked at the wall and said "we're not doing this and that only major cracks." To which I responded, "but I asked you when you came here if you were going to do this and you said yes." At that moment I felt that he was lying about the scope of the work and that really bothered me a lot. I don't like dishonest people especially when it comes to contractors that you are paying. So throughout the work being done his brother would chime in and tell me "I'm doing extra for you, but we don't do this." My thought was, so what did I pay you for? Just to clean the wall if you weren't going to point all the visible cracks and holes that we spoke about? I already allowed them to use my ladder and a few tools to which never asked permission to use. I even gave the worker water every time the worker asked. I already had to spend an hour cleaning up all the debris from the power washing that they did the first day they started. Anyway the pointing that was done was terrible. They missed a lot of visible cracks and holes. The contractor just wanted to get the job and get paid, but they lied about the scope of the work. Then they were to repair a loose step and in the process they cracked the step in half when they were removing the old mortar from the step. When he placed the step back on it was uneven. It was not leveled. This part was not noticed until after he left. When you look at the side you can definitely see that the step is not leveled and it's sloped. All my neighbors even noticed it from the side afterwards to which they all said they did a really bad job. I immediately texted the contractor back with photos clearly showing that the step is not leveled and is sloped. Of course he never responded! Also, both sides of my neighbors were upset with the workers for making a mess on their side of the property and not cleaning it up. Overall, it was just a really shitty job!
