They came out saying he needed to take the cabinets to paint them. In conversation I told him that I also wanted to replace my counter top, but not with something expensive. He came back again with four expensive samples of counter top. I looked at them and he said I have another one that I will bring tomorrow. When he came back I asked him to draw up a contract for painting the doors on the cabinets. I paid him a $1500 deposit because he said he need to go to Brooklyn for a special paint mixed by a Jewish family. He told me he put a deposit on a black quartz counter top that has been cut already. I asked him why would he do that when I never asked him to nor did I sign anything. The paint that he said needed to get is the same paint that is sold in Home Depot telling us the paint they sell is garbage. It has been six weeks and I have been told that he has cancelled his account with HomeAdvisor. We have not heard back from the company and are out of $1500 with no work performed.
