I've been going to Tony at Hond-A Medic to service my Honda Insight for approximately four years. It's not especially convenient for me, as I live in Sleepy Hollow, and Hond-A Medic is in Valley Cottage, over the Tappan-Zee Bridge. However, I haven't found anyone near me whom I can rely on to service my car at such a reasonable price and to provide such excellent service. Tony has also been kind enough to consult with me on the phone when I have a problem with my car and even to recommend going to a dealer for service when it was appropriate (against his own financial interests!) This is a mechanic you can really trust. Who knew such a creature existed?!!!!!

I asked him to look at the lower front ball jointss as another mechanic had told me they should be replaced. I was informed that they were not bad and did not need to be replaced.

I have a couple of old and unusual cars that it is impossible to get anyone to work on. Tony has always taken my cars without any fuss and repaired them promptly. This time my 20-year old Miata needed new brakes and a tune-up. I dropped it off and the work was done faster than I expected. The work was top-quality and the price was reasonable. At other times I have brought him cars that are 40-years old and he has done extensive repairs that other mechanics wouldn't touch.

Asked to check car (Subaru Forrester) unknown problem - funny noise while accelerating.

Turned out to be transmission problem.

Vendor presented several alternatives.

All were expensive but I had used them many times before and found them to be trustworthy.

They completed work professionally and on time.

Tony wasn't at all reluctant to take on a very old car (unlike most modern mechanics). I had to leave my car for a couple of weeks because parts had to be ordered, but when I got it back the power steering had been completely rebuilt and they even straightened out my steering wheel which had been crooked ever since I have owned the car. The price was reasonable and the work top-notch.

What I like about them is that they are extremely honest and they tell you if you don't need something. I feel pretty comfortable when they tell me what I need. I found them very honest. Going to them is much more cost effective than going to the dealership.
