Overall, Steve and his painting partner did a very solid job.  The best things about the work are what you hope it would be, quality and price.  The quality of his work is great, very professional.  His quote for the work was much less than that of another contractor I had price the job.
Steve also identified little things that he helped us with, replacing or adding molding, covering nail holes in molding on doors, replacing old panels even in our kitchen wood work.  He even offered to help construct a unique baby gate for us.  He really was an asset on a number of levels.
My only advice for improvement would be this.  Some of the aforementioned work that he offered to do and take care of was not communicated as an up charge, like adding chair rail in our dining room.  He just said that he would "take care of it."  I would have preferred him, telling us up front that he can do it and it would be approximately "this much."  Again, the pricing was very fair, but I would have liked a heads up.  Also, I felt the length of time he took to complete the work was more than he initially committed to.  On a project without any hang-ups really, I would have expected things to be done a bit faster.  He did have some personal things come up that he needed to handle, which was communicated and fine, but I would have liked to see him make up time over the weekends and during the week.
All-in-all it was a positive experience.  Again, where it counts, in price and quality, Steve is an A.  Steve is a very nice guy and we would use him again.
