Stair Master

Jeff was great, he has been doing this for 20 years and he knew exactly what to do.  I just assumed you get a painter in to do the staining but that was a bad assumption.  For the most part the painters either wanted no part of the job, wanted no part of trying to match the stain or were charging an exorbitant amount of money for the job.  The issue was the balusters how do you do the staining without getting any stain on the balusters?
I did find one company from Angie's List that at least tried to match the stain and was willing to give it a shot.  I appreciated that they were willing to try when no one else wanted to do it.  He told me he was not totally comfortable doing it (since the railing was so expensive).  I called the stair company to see if they could remove the balusters, so the railing can easily be stained and sealed. The stair company gave me Jeff Leone's name and number.
I called Jeff he told me he does a hundred stair rails a year.  Jeff does wood railings. staircases and furniture finishing.  I guess that was the disconnect, Jeff works with furniture and staircases but doesn't get into painting.  The railings are absolutely gorgeous, he did a great job.  We also recently picked up a new wall unit from Craig's List and Jeff did some touching up on it. It looks great too.
My wife noticed some over spraying in a couple of places and called Jeff that night (Saturday), he came over first thing Sunday morning and used a little rubbing compound to get rid of the over spray.  We thanked him and he told us he always stands by his work and couldn't understand anyone who doesn't.
Jeff doesn't advertise, all his work is by word of mouth.  We are very happy with the job Jeff did.  He finished in half the time from the quotes we did get and his price was about 1/3 of the prices we got.
