Home Building, General Remodeling
Hired Seal Tite Builders (Nick Virello) to remodel our home. Initially construction went well. As the project pregressed it became evident that the company was not professional. The work site was rarely maintained for cleanliness and safety. Workers were left unsupervised without proper tools and safety equipment. Any materials that were missing from the job became necessary for the oweners to buy or it would be considered, "extra". The owner of Seal Tite even called the owner when he had run out of screws due to the fact that his workers had dropped them in the yard (cost of screws $20). The owner of Seal Tite once got so angry over a $10 piece of pvc that he went into a rage and began shouting at the owner of the home. The work slowed down once the money was paid in order for the company to move to the next job and demolish another home in order to secure the business prior to finishing our home. There were days when no one from Seal Tite would come to the job site even when there was a delivery being made. That would leave the owner to meet trucks and off load materials or risk having them returned to the manufacturer. Once the money was paid out the work on the home steadily declined. The finish work that was done was poor. Mouldings were done wrong, sheet rock was left unfinished and unsanded so the painter had to do extra work. Plumbing and electrical contractors hired by Seal Tite left the job unfinshed. The heating system did not function properly and the owner of Seal Tite made one Attempt to repair it and did nothing as we waited through the winter with no heat in our home. Eventually we had to find another contractor to repair the system that had been installed wrong. The roof that was installed by Seal Tite was not done to the specifications of the architect. Multiple attempts were made to contact Seal Tite and deliver punchlists with the unfinished items, however they failed to pick them up as they were sent via certified mail. In the end the work was not completed and the roof needs to be redone. Seal Tite was given every opportunity to rectify the problems but chose to take our money and not finish the job.
