Randy Garvey(American Improvements LLC)

We gave Randy the $750 and he cashed the check immediately.  He came back with no materials and when we asked him where the materials were he walked off the job.  He never returned dispite many phone calls.  He never even returned the calls.   He went to another residence in the city and started the work and walked off on this person also.  We have a judgement against him and understand that many others also have judgements.  Impossible to collect as his firm has no assets.

Randy Garvey did not provide materials as promised.  He left and did not come back despite repeated attempts.  He was finally terminated by us and we took him to small claims court and he did not show.  We won the $750 plus court fees.  He still has not paid us.  We have been advised by another party that he did the same to them.  (Details Below)
I have exhausted just about all avenues to regain my advance to this unscrupulous individual.  I contacted him in good faith to redo my screen house attached to my garage around the first of May.  He came and reviewed the job on 5/20 and cashed my check on 5/21.  He was going to buy the materials for the job and drop them off on or before starting the job. He stated that he might start work on Thursday (5-24)  but no later than Monday (5-28)  He promised us the job done by 6/1 which was the date we had been requesting since the first of May.  Well, he did not arrive until Tuesday 5/29.  He had no materials with him- just a hammer in his hand.  When I asked where the materials were that I paid for and said I would like them there before he tore the screen house apart.  He left and returned with 1 gallon of paint, 1 roll of screen, 1 pkg. of staples, and four planks which amounted to about  $75.  I expected him to begin work but he left and never returned.  On June 1, we terminated him and asked for our money back less the materials he left. We returned in good faith his two ladders and two old planks left at our home when he came with the estimate.  We then took him to small claims court and won a judgement of $781 which included the court cost.  (He did not show at small claims and we won by default.  He has not responded with any form of communications via Ogdensburg Police Department, Certified Mail, or Lawyer correspondence.  Calls to him go unanswered as he has caller ID.
I have since saw him working at another residence.  I contacted this home owner and he said Randy Garvey was being paid by him by the week for work performed.  He stated that Randy Garvey was not working enough hours and he was overpaid. He informed Randy Garvey that he was going to withhold payment until he caught up on the money paid for the work.  Randy Garvey packed up and walked off the site and this home owner is going to take him to court.
Warning to all be careful when dealing with Randy Garvey.  We will not hire him nor recommend him for any services.  Thank you.
