The deck turned out terrible- their was a hump in the floor that I asked him to address and he didnt, the steps were an absolute joke ( to the point where people asked if a child put them up)....... They were not safe and wouldnt have come close to code in ANY state! My neighbors even commented on his short stays at our house every day and how the deck " just didnt look right"....... Looking under the deck we noticed one of the main pressure treated frames was bowed , the railings were crooked, there was a space between the sliding door and the deck that would allow water to get in and under and eventually would have rotted under the door. The joices under the deck had roofing nails" in them!!!! Some of the vinyl rail posts had 4x4s in them that were too short to give them the appropriate support they need. The railing that goes down the stairs wasnt the right railing - he forced the spindles in at an angle that everyone noticed right off. I told him on day one I wanted the steps to be in the middle going out towards the back yard..... He put them to the side........ Everytime I told him what I wanted he would always agree with me and tell me he was gonna do it2c but then when I went to check after he left he never had them done
eAfter people heard of what I was going thru I then started getting calls from people that had the same similar problems with him. I decided to fire him and have someone else come in and look at it. They came and saw this and were in disbelief of what they saw. He never even used sono tubes when he poured the cement. I have to have this whole deck torn apart and re done- some of the materials are still ok to use- but some arent. I will have to spend more money for Paul's mistakes.
I work hard for my money- as I know most people do. I want people to be warned of this before they invest all their hard earned money into him...........
