This review is basically about the over-priced monopoly that Cablevision has in my area.  The amount I have to pay is outrageous and there are few, if any, alternatives.  The service people do a great job and they are professionals.  However, internet speed could be faster and price definitely should be more reasonable!

My pricing was scheduled to increase substantially after 1st year promotional rates. The customer service and cancellation departments were very willing to work with me to keep my package the same with minimizing the price increase. After a lengthy discussion they were able to reduce the originally quoted price and keep my package the same, however the rate have gone up pretty substantially since last year.

Everything went well, I was just disappointed with the speed of the internet.

Optimum has some great stuff going for them, mostly because they're not Comcast or Time Warner.
I've only had to restart my modem once in our year or service, and feel like the speed is consistent. The price is great (again, compared to Comcast and TW). Picture quality is comparable to Comcast or TW as well.
I also have to say that any time I've spoken with them on the phone, they've been knowledgeable, quick, and helpful. Couldn't be more different from life-draining Comcast calls.
The only fault I have with Optimum is their Menu Guide and DVR navigation. It's g-dawful. Three-second delays, redundant menu navigation, playback that won't play. I'm not sure how a company that's otherwise so together has allowed this aspect of their offering to go on. 3 second lag after hitting the play button is just painful. And a few times I've had to shut off the cable box and turn it on again just to get into the DVR option menu.
Aside from that, I think they're great. But considering I can't navigate their service without it, it's a fairly big hassle.

I am happy with their service. They were good. I would use them again in the future.

Its very reliable and they have excellent customer service. Anything that they have done for me has been excellent. I have no complaints.

They did daily provide phone service. The quality is good. I would use them again in the future.

I chose to use Optimum because Verizon isn't providing any service in my area still and I couldn't have used them even if I wanted to. I was using Direct TV earlier but I switched to Optimum because at that time there was no one else offering Triple Play and I had to go for their services. They came when they said they would come and within the time frame that was given. With respect to their satellite TV services, many a times while watching television I have experienced that there has been no problem watching it at one part of the house and it would be fine but in another part of the house the television picture would be very shaky and frequently go out, the cable box would get reset itself and I have no idea why. That is very annoying.
