A freak rainstorm in my area in August where the storm dumped 3and quot; of rain on my property, the one existing dry well couldn't handle the runoff from my gutters and the two higher pitched properties surrounding me. My neighbor's and my yard were flooded with over 6and quot; of water. The water ended up in my basement.
After getting the basement gutted, I was advised by multiple people to install more dry wells since I couldn't raise the height of my property without paying a fortune. I asked three companies for an estimate and Gand C (who also does my landscaping) gave me the lowest price. They installed a 7 foot deep dry well in the middle of the yard, and cleaned out the existing one. They dug both down to the sand, so water would be able to permeate through without a problem. The grate in the yard is plastic and slightly recessed, so the lawn can still get mowed. After all the snow we had this year, the circle where the new dry well was dug has depressed slightly. I asked them about this, and they said it's okay. I sure hope so ... don't need a sink hole in my yard.

Other masons would not guarantee to remove all of the old concrete. They said they would remove and quot;whatever was necessary.and quot; The initial meeting with Manny Carlos of Gand C Landscaping was 'brief'; I wasn't certain he was listening to what was said. But that proved to be an inaccurate perception. At our second meeting, he described the entire process, all the necessary details of the work. He seemed surprised when I asked if he would be removing ALL of the concrete. His answer was 'of course.' The one difficulty he thought we might have would be in matching the color tint of two batched of concrete. The tinting was mixed throughout the concrete, not spread along the surface. The two loads of concrete match. At the rear of the house, I used pavers. Other masons indicated that some designs might increase the cost. This was not the case with Gand C landscaping,
The team arrived as promised on a Monday, worked daily until the job was completed. Manny attended to all the details and sought feedback as the work progressed. He was on the site for a part of everyday. The workmen were courteous and pleasant. There were absolutely no hastles. His work is perfect in terms of aesthetics as well as the direction of the water flow. I give him an A+. As a final note, three other homeowners on my street liked his work and have asked him for estimates
