See images. Holes in tile needed to be enlarged slightly to accomodate newer faucet sleeve parts. There is a diamond drill tool with stabilizing base made for this delicate work; also a tile or wet saw or nippers can be used. Plumber said he was concerned about threads. Instead he used a regular hammer and dull screw driver, vigorously pounding for about half an hour.
We both agreed the wall was not in good shape. He claims it was the tile, but it was plainly visible that it was the drywall that had decayed behind the tile. If it was the tile, it did a good job of enduring his prolonged hammering.
Since the house is 50 years old and the tub area was showing age, we simply had a BathFitter installed.

I called for a plugged up sewer line & drain. Gary came promptly, explained what he would recommend to fix the problem and how much it would cost. He handled the problem in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner.
