On March 5, 2014, I adopted an adult male miniature poodle who, I was told, was about 4 years old.  Within a few days I noliced that he wouldn't eat kibble or Milk Bones, preferring canned food and soft treats such as cheese.  I also noticed his bad breath and expired rabies tag, so I decided to take him to a vet.  I had previously taken my pets to Country Estates Kennel for boarding and remembered that they had vets on site.  An appointment was made for Monday, March 10.
This appointment consisted of a complete examination, taking a blood sample for testing, and the administration of several vaccines.  Dr Jenkins determined that "Jerry Lee Pierre" was about 8-9 years old, had an eye infection, and was in serious need of dental care.  The bill for this visit came to $420 (including medicine for his eyes), after $100 was knocked off.  The dental appointment was made for the following Monday, March 17, and I was given a itemized list of costs involved for the dental work which would be quite expensive considering his condition.  Dr Jenkins' assistant called the next day with the results of the various tests which were all good.
After dropping Jerry Lee off in the morning, I was told to pick him up about 5:30pm.  However, I was called during that day and advised to pick him up an hour later.  In total 11 teeth had to be removed in addition to the teeth cleaning and polishing.  This bill came to $680 after $150 was deducted.  A follow-up exam for March 27 was made, the cost of which was included in that bill.  I was given an "After Care" instruction sheet along with three medications.  In the interval, Dr Jenkins called at least twice (the next day and several days later) to check on Jerry Lee.  Although he couldn't stop shaking during this visit, he checked out fine.
I will definitely use Dr Jenkins again.  She was extremely kind to Jerry Lee.  The staff was very nice and accommodating also.
