floor cleaning, handyman service
 + 0 moreWhile Carlos of BKD Wood Floor does good work, it's limited to the size of the job and whether he is paid in full before finishing. As long as you retain a sizable portion of the cost and you have the time to follow-up on his work, then it might be worth using him. His floor work is nice and he charges a fair price but if you have valuable items around you better move them yourself. At the end he didn't paint the 1/4 round that trims the floor and wall, the color of the floor and in some case not at all. The ceiling plaster job looks as though Spackle was thrown to the ceiling and left to dry, not sanded nor painted as a professional would have done and it's obvious that the paint job was rushed; needless to say that the attic steps was not painted to matched the ceiling. They left one day and never returned to finish nor called to explain.
Description of Work: Initially back in 2010 I hired Aurelio AKA Carlos Dejesus of BDK Flooring to paint one floor of my house and to strip and polish the parquet floors. A reasonable price was negotiated and work was begun and I gave him a deposit. The work took much longer than expected while he slowly whined the balance of the cost out of me and then I realized that I had to constantly call him and follow up on the quality of his work, but nothing really bad. The second set of work is where the problem enters the dynamics. He started work on the last floor; painting and carpet removal and parquet floor and attic stairs installation. I set guidelines and made a list this time of the work to be done and problems found and paid in steps. When work was behind and I still owe him about $1500. he fabricated a story about his sister needed to fly back to Columbia because his mother was ill and he needed the money for her flight from Kennedy. Then the quality of work became very shoddy and the visits to the job site, my home, had longer gaps between them.
