Well they would show up at any random time including 7 AM on a Saturday morning yet 10 AM during the week without notifying anyone so we could take stuff off walls, arrange pet care so dogs weren't let out, When they left for the day they left all gates open, the remnants of their lunch as well as all of the garbage (nails, razors, pieces of siding) that they should have removed. I needed to clean it all up and put everything out to curb. When asking them what time they would be there until so we could clarify what time we could pick up our dogs from daycare, the 4 people working there did not understand English so they couldn't tell me. Also our grass was used as a urinal for one of the workers as I witnessed when I came back without my car so they were unaware someone was in the house and could see them. Would never recommend due to the very sloppy job that was done, the highly over charged rate and the lack of professionalism in the people that were working there

I have been meaning to write this review for some weeks now and will provide as much detail as possible but suffice it to say, I will never again use anyone but Mike and A&M Building. We have owned our home for more than 28 years and believe me when I say we have been through our fair share of contractors but in all this time we had yet to come across someone who did exactly what they said they would do, for the price they said they would do it, and who was as easy and pleasant to work with as Mike. A&M did all these things and more.

It had been about 15 years since our last big job and the house was starting to look a little worn out. Once we decided it was time to do the work we reached out to some local companies we knew of in the area. We also contacted A&M at the recommendation of a friend who lives around the block who used Mike for a similar job and highly recommended him. What stood out most for them (and ultimately for us) was that company owner, Mike, was on the job each and every day working. It may not sound like much but every other contractor we have worked with (besides maybe a handyman who did a small odd job) have met with us, given us the estimate, took our money, and then once the work started we barely saw them again, if at all. Mike on the other hand was there the whole time, not just making sure everything got done right, but actually doing the work with his crew. Mike gave us a written estimate, that included a price for both labor and materials. He explained to us how he works, his payment policy (or really what moneys were due when) and talked to us about options (less expensive siding options, alternatives, etc.). While we did receive a slightly lower quote from one other company, Mike's quote seemed fair and was in line or lower than the others we received. All in all the difference in price was nominal and was not the sole factor driving our decision - what it really came down to was that Mike came highly recommended (which is also what prompted me to spread the word about him) and that he seemed like a genuine, nice person who really loved what he does and took pride in his work.

Once the work was under way, Mike showed up on time every single day and worked straight through. I never came out to find anyone lazing around or not on the job (though I know everyone needs a break!). With the exception of lunch and runs for materials, Mike and the A&M crew were there working exactly when and how they were supposed to be. They also took the time to clean the area of any debris at the end of each day making the whole process pretty noninvasive from a homeowner standpoint.

While all of the above (being nice, showing up on time, quoting a fair price, etc.) is definitely important, let's face it, if the work itself isn't up to par none of that really matters in the end. Thankfully, Mike's work was meticulous and the job was done perfectly. My husband and I are sticklers for cut corners and shoddy work and there was absolutely none of that. Mike took pride in his work, did the job right, and we ended up with what looks like a completely new house! It is a pleasure to pull into our driveway each day and we are grateful to A&M for the work they did.

I will absolutely be using A&M Building and Remodeling again (I already have my eye on my master bath which could use a facelift) - I really could not imagine working with another contractor. Mike, if you're reading this, THANK YOU!
