ZenDog provides a wonderful service for dogs to get out of the house for several hours and explore local parks. This is a great option for pets who would otherwise spend long days alone while their families are out of the house. Jon and his team are friendly, reliable and highly responsive. Their service is top notch!

After about 2 months of good service, the president of the company (Jonathan) emailed to say that we needed to use 4 walks per week in order to maintain our service. At no point was this policy communicated to us when we enrolled, but we complied with itfor 3 weeks. Then, on a week with a holiday, we only used the service 3 times, I received another e-mail saying that our service would be discontinued by the end of the week, leaving us scrambling to make arrangements.
The company can have whatever rules they want, but to not communicate these rules to new clients and then kick them off for not following is awful customer service.

"[Member Name Removed] We certainly communicate this policy to all of our clients and it is also clearly stated on our website at zendoglife.com. On October 15th we sent an email stating that you have been canceling too many appointments and that you must commit to using 4 or more regularly booked appointments each week or we would need to transition you to another service. This however does not void the 20 walk minimum/calendar month which you agreed to when beginning service and were far from meeting. On November 9th we sent another email asking that you commit to using the service 5 days/week after auditing your usage for October and finding that you had only used 13 of 20 walks. We informed you that if you could not do so, this would have to be the last week of regular service. We did NOT leave you scrambling to find another walker. If you decided you could not commit to the 5 days a week you could have simply informed us and we would have transitioned you to another company or private walker by providing walks in the meantime. We have never and will never leave our clients holding the leash last minute. Some clients try to take advantage of our package discounts by signing up for a monthly package and then canceling walks on a weekly basis. This hurts our walkers and our company and this is the reason for this policy. We must protect our walkers and loyal clients who use the service regularly from those who want to take advantage of our amazing walkers at a discount without adhering to our policies."

Wow. "Zen" is an incredibly appropriate name for this top-notch service. Not only is Zen Dog dedicated to dogs and giving them the kind of company and activity they need, but the company is also dedicated to its employees--and it shows. It was obvious they truly cared about our puppy. We had to discontinue their services due to our financial situation, but we hope to be able to employ them again in the future.

I emailed Zen Dog Pet Care and the owner Jon called to speak with me, he got an idea of what type of service I was interested in and gave us options for what might benefit me and my dog the most. From what I had heard the owners Jon and Nicole are selective in whom theh hire, the employees are provided the proper training to understand and handle dogs many temperaments. My dog needs someone who has confidence and she respects to comfortably walk with and relax. An appointment was set up, within 2 days. The dog walker he selected, Allie, came over, met me and my dog, she took her for a little walk as a courtesy trial to make sure all parties, people and pups, were comfortable, we shared some background about work history, etc and she asked about my dog, what I wanted from the service she provides and if I had any concerns about my dog. She asked and took note of where the dog bowls are, food, what water she drinks, where her collar, leash, crate are, very conscientious. Jon called shortly after the appointment to get my feedback of how I felt Allie and my dog would do together. I already decided the fit was great but I really appreciated the follow-up and outreach from the owner, it shows how much he cares for his business and the people/pets involved. My large breed dog and I lived the last 5 years where there are no side walks or many people around. Allie and Zen Dog Pet Care really helped facilitate that transition for me and my dog from the suburban country to a city environment. Allie, our walker, checks in on Pet Check service and tracks the route she walks with my dog everyday. She checks out when they are finished, leaving a little note about their walk and what they did or encountered. Everyday I get an email from her and it always puts a smile on my face. She's even brought in a few packages and left them in my foyer so they didn't sit in the hallway all day. I get to come home to a happy dog and I know she got some exercise, went to the bathroom, and had a nice time with a dog walker who treats and cares about my dog as if it were her own. Zen Dog Pet Care is excellent to work with and have continued to exceed my expectations.

Jon from Zen Dog was fantastic. He came and met with us before we went away on vacation. We discussed the details of the job and he met with our pets. He is clearly an animal lover who really enjoys this work. He came twice per day while we were away and walked our dog, let the cat out, fed them both and gave the dog her medication. He sent us emails every visit letting us know how the animals were doing, how much time he spent with them, and even sent some pictures of the animals. Our animals were very well cared for and we couldn't have been happier with the service he provided. This was so much better than putting the pets in the kennel ....it was reasonably priced, less traumatic for the animals because they could stay in familiar surroundings, and they were extremely well cared for. We will definitely be using Zen Dog Pet Care again.

They are extremely well organized and very responsible. They took fabulous care of my dog and kept me informed. I think their price is competitive. They gave me some quotes and I assume the invoice would reflect those quotes; so their pricing was fair.

I couldn't have been happier with the level of care that my pets received. Jon has a great with the animals and really cares about his work. He even sent photos while we were away and daily text updates. He was available to answer my texts when I wanted to check on how everything was going. I was extremely pleased. He is extremely trustworthy, caring and reliable and his rates are affordable. I will definitely use him again to take care of my pets.

Jon and his company are wonderful. We are new to New York so I used Angie's List to find a dog sitter or kennel for six days while we were planning to be away. Jon came over after I called him to discuss services and costs. All I can say is Jon was wonderful. He looked after myndogs for six days in my house. Everything went great. The dogs love him and they were perfectly happy when I got hom. It normally takes them days to recover from a kennel vist but this time they were relaxed, happy,and well cared for.,Jon also gave me a referral to a local vet who is wonderful,and a dog groomer. Glad we're found Jon since our next trip away is already planned and Jon will be back at work for.us

The service was fantastic. I really do not understand how people who "love" their dog leave them in overnight facilities where there are 50+ dogs on top of each other. All the dogs barking at once and doing their necessities all over the place. The attention of these places are anything but personal and caring. Your dog becomes a number, and is treated in a very impersonal way.
I am so glad that I found Zen Dog Pet Care. Jon and his girlfriend took care of my dog klhoe just as if she was with us. She went out walking, expend time with them in their house just as if it was their own dog. Real family care. She is very sensitive, and attached to humans so this was perfect for her. Jon sent us updates with pictures through a website and text messages. They are such loving people. This is the real deal, not the 100+ dogs in a room. Klhoe came back to us like never before. She was happy to see us. In the past she will take a few days to approach us. I assumed she was not happy where she stayed in the past.
If you really love your pet, Zen Dog Pet care is the place to go. We are going away in a week for 11 days and we will fully trust them with Klhoe again.

I not only needed regular cat sitting services for for my 2 cats for a week but I also needed someone to administer insulin shots twice a day to one of the cats. Unfortunately, the cat that has diabetes is very shy and hides from strangers. Not a very good situation if someone needs to give shots to a hiding cat. I knew if the cat got to know someone after a couple of weeks he would be ok but I called a couple of people that were recommended by my vet and they weren't willing to go along with my plan of visiting for an hour or two a day to get him comfortable (paid visits) prior to my week away. Then I came across Jon & Nicole and they understood completely what I needed. They got to know my cat and it took several visits but after a while he hid for less and less time and then eventually not at all. I was able to go away on my vacation having the peace of mind that my cats were being extremely well cared to. They gave me constant updates & even sent some videos to show how well things were going. I think my cats had an even better time on vacation than I did. I have to travel for business from time to time and its a huge relief to know that I now have people I can completely depend on. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.
