We have used Houseworth Plumbing for repairs and maintenance over the years. He has always been responsive and the work satisfactory. I called him in after a fuse in the thermostatic control of the furnace failed causing the pipes on the upper floor to freeze and burst at the connections to the radiators. I replaced the fuse before his arrival and the furnace itself was functional.  Mr. Houseworth determined that besides the burst heating lines, there were several other issues; a poorly functioning expansion tank and a corroded pressure relief valve which had resulted in almost all of the antifreeze being lost from the heating system which in turn resulted in burst pipes when the furnace stopped working during a severe cold spell. Long story short, he replaced the expansion tank, the pressure relief valve, added antifreeze and presented me with a bill for almost $1000.00 for parts and labor. Mind you, this did not include replacing any of the burst heating hoses which was subsequently done by another contractor. I expressed to Mr. Houseworth my feeling that the bill was excessive considering what was done. He told me to pay what I felt was fair and we settled for ~70% of his original bill. The work that Mr, Houseworth did was satisfactory and he handled the issue of the billing in a fair and courteous manner. I would use his services again provided that an agreed upon price for service was set in advance.

We had an occasional, but recurring, sewer-gas smell in the ground floor of our home.  We had several other plumbers review our plumbing -- all attempted to remedy with no success.  Based on a local referral, we called Houseworth.  They came over the same day and spent over an hour reviewing everything to provide us with a free estimate.  After reviewing the estimate, we made an appointment to have the prescribed work completed.  They were prompt, very professional, and fixed the problem.

They were ready to come at once, returning my call within half an hour. This has always been their practice with emergencies like this flooding or with non-working heating system. The work was done very promptly and carefully, and the working of the new pump was explained to me, since it had an improvement over the old model. They are unfailingly polite and careful, working swiftly to correct whatever is the problem, and their fees have always been perfectly reasonable.

Projects have always gone well, even when there's a surprise somewhere.

They are wonderful! I absolutely would never go anywhere else. They do exactly what you want, and they do it very, very well. The most astonishing thing about the company is that they will not do any work they think is unnecessary. They are incredibly honest and ethical.

I think my problems were not solved at all and he installed the system. I am using the wood stove more.

Great on job #1 No return call on job #2

The owner himself answered my phone call this morning, and said he would come to evaluate and repair whatever was causing the leak under the kitchen sink by late morning. His timing was a little off, but he called to tell me when he would be here instead and was as good as his word. It took him perhaps five minutes to determine the sites of TWO leaks, one under each of the double sinks. He returned to his place of business to get a new garbage disposal. Shortly thereafter his younger son, who has been working in the business for about ten years, arrived to complete the work. He installed the new disposal, tightened and checked all the plumbing under the sinks, and cleaned up whatever debris had accumulated during the work.
