In advance of an upcoming party in our home, we concluded that our 35 year old wooden dining room chairs had become loosened, wobbily and perhaps dangerous. My Angie's List search yielded a number of names with high ratings. My phone contact effort settled me on Hudson Valley Restoration. After I described our problem, I was immediately informed that this was work that they routinely performed and that they could complete our job in around a week from when I dropped the chairs off. Since conversations with other craftsmen indicated a 3 week (or more) turn around, I was pleased to arrange to drop off the chairs the next Monday morning, in advance of a week-long trip out of town. Their location in Lansingburgh was easy to find and their facility (a remarkable old Troy toilet brush factory!) was a hoot. The price quoted to us was truly reasonable and the completion schedule was restated. The seat cushions and connecting bolts were removed and returned to us so that they would not get lost or damaged in the repair process. Shortly before we returned from our trip, I received a call informing me that our chairs were completed and available for pick-up! Upon our return, we brought our seat cushions back, they were reattached, and the chairs were as good as new. These folks are good!

It went really well. They said they would check out the wood to see if it could be sanded clean and would let me know if the leaves could be saved and how much the cost would be. Within a week they called back to say the leaves could be restored and gave me an estimate half the price I was given by the emergency team that took care of my furniture after the fire.

Went very well. They are a fine company. I have dealt with them before and was very pleased. They know their work and I will use them again without question. Ann M.

I dropped the broken chair with one of the other chairs off at their location. I was given a written estimate with an approximate time for finish. The work that needed to be done was detailed on the estimate along with what might happen if they could not do exactly what the original plan was. It took less time to restore than planned. I was called for pickup and am very pleased with the work that was done.

You can not tell the leg was ever broken.
The replacement piece is very well made and looks original to the table.
The pick up and drop off services were well coordinated and worth the price for us.
They even buffed the table to make the whole piece look nice at no extra charge.
We are very pleased. We hope we will not break another piece of furniture but if we do we will take it here.

The movers had severlay damaged the bookcase headboard of my bed. Although it's not expensive furniture, it's attractive and I like it. Ken, Christine and Amber fixed everything! They put it back together where it had been pulled apart so badly the dowels had been showing at the corners. They put the back on again where it had been ripped off by rough handling (I honestly can't even imagine what the movers did to make cause some of the damage.) They refinished the part on the top of the headboard where something had been spilled and caused the finish to come off. All of the work was made more complicated because much of the headboard is particle board with a very thin veneer over it. So they couldn't just sand away,
The headboard looks like the day it was first delivered when new. These folks are professionals from start to finish, as well as really nice people!

Christine can do anything. She is fabulous. We’ve used her a few times. She replaced a bottom shelf on a 2-tier antique end-table. The bottom tier was warped, so it wobbled. She matched the wood so well that you can't even tell it was replaced. She repaired a drop leaf table from the 30's. One of the leaves had cracked and had been repaired with glue. She made it look gorgeous--she repaired and refinished it. It doesn't even look like the same table. I don't think there is anything she can't do--she is a true artist.

It looks beautiful - better than it did when I first bought it. The job was done exactly in the time frame cirted - 2 weeks, and came in on the low end of the estimate range. I immediately brought them another larger piece, and plan to have them do several more. I am very pleased.

We wanted the chest repaired where the legs had broken off. He asked if we wanted it stripped, and because we planned to paint it we said OK. He gave us the estimate of $75 for stripping and $50 for repairs, which is what it turned out to be. He did a really fine job. The repair matches the original trim and it was a clean stripping job. He loved the piece, which turned out to be almost 200 years old. So he lavished a lot of care on it, and made us value it more. He is an excellent craftsman.

THEY ARE QUALITY PEOPLE THAT DO QUALITY WORK. THEY HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF EXPERIENCE AND ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ANTIQUES AND RESTORATION. THE PRICE REFLECTS THE QUALITY OF THE WORK BEING DONE. I THINK THE DESK IS STUNNING.

THEY'RE VERY GOOD, WHEN I CALLED THEM THEY CAME OUT FIRST TO LOOK AT THE PIECE TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. THEY WERE GOOD SO WE WENT FOR IT AND THEY CAME BACK AND TOOK THE PIECES AWAY. WHEN THEY BROUGHT THEM BACK, THEY LOOKED GREAT. THEY ARE PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.
