Lynnette Remers, our real estate sales representative for selling our home, was in my opinion, incompetent, unprofessional and lacked basic knowledge of real estate transaction. She frequently gave us wrong information and lied. For example: 1.) when we received our first offer we asked if we could close at the end of June, due to our children being in school, she told us no we couldn't do that because we didn't originally state that in our contract. This is false information, we had not entered any contract with any buyers and did in fact have a right to at least ask the potential buyer if they could hold closing until June. 2.) We clearly stated to Lynnette, that we did not want to include our appliances ( refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher) in the sale of our home. It was not included in our listing contract. When we received our first offer, it was $4,900 below asking price and included all of our appliances. Lynnette never informed us that the appliances were included in the offer. When questioned about this, she was rude and defensive, and said " well in Colorado you have to include appliances". We live in New York State which does not require the inclusion of appliances not attached to a wall in the sale of a property. 3.) Lynnette never told us that the potential buyers were getting a FHA loan, therefore making them a riskier buyer and requiring certain regulations for our house. Lynnette was either unknowledgeable about this or was not looking out for our best interests, which is required by NYS when you agree to represent a seller. 4.) After our home inspection identified a mold issue in our attic crawl space, Lynnette told us just to sign the PINA and fix it. When we questioned if we had to pay for or if the buyers could, she replied " I don't think that will fly, as the buyers have already incurred loan application fees". Lynnette was clearly very ignorant to the laws and regulations, in this situation. In New York State the sellers have the right to refuse the PINA. 4.) When attempting to buy a home Lynnette told us we would be a stronger potential buyer if we offered a large down payment. So, when putting an offer in on a house we offered to pay a $10,000 down payment. Lynnette insisted we needed to write the check and give it to her before our offer was even reviewed. Again this is false information you are not required to have your down payment check BEFORE the potential seller even accepts your offer. Overall, We felt that Lynnette did not represent us or put our best interests first due to her lack of knowledge and poor customer service. When I called her principal at Arista, Robert Nuchereno, I tried to communicate the above concerns with him. He replied multiple times with " Did your house sell? It did. I don't know what you want me to do. " I said that I thought he would want to know how a person who is representing him and his company is misinforming clients and treating them rudely. He was very upset when I said this and said " you can't say that, I've listened to you for 5 minutes, what's your first name again?! " He clearly did not care about how Lynnette was treating us or her lack of competence. He was more rude than her. My point in calling was not to argue the point of our house selling, it was to inform him of my concerns, he clearly did not care. In my opinion, that is not how you treat a client. I would not recommend Lynnette Remers , Robert Nuchereno or Arista to anyone who would like a knowledgable real estate agent and to be treated with respect.
