About us

Resco Inc. has been installing Windows, Doors, & Siding since 1982. My name is Michael Soren and I am the owner and main installer. I prefer to do most of the work myself in order to insure the best possible level of service and craftsmanship. I believe that a job is not finished until the customer is satisfied. When you call Resco for your home's exterior renovation needs you will only deal with me, Michael Soren. I will explain your window, door and siding options and provide you with a fair and reasonable estimate. At Resco Inc you do not have to worry about pushy sales people that over promise and installers that rush and under perform. I take one job at time and do not leave until it's complete. Please visit my website for pictures of prior installations. www.rescowindows.com Marvin ID # 700004551 Rockland License #H23-4879

Unlike some of the other people we called to get quotes for this job, Michael was at our house within a day of us calling him.  He was very prompt with his quote, and while it wasn't the cheapest, it was the most detailed and had us feeling fairly confident in investing with him.  Michael was also sensitive to our budget, telling us which windows needed to be replaced, and which could, at least for now, be protected in the short term until we were able to afford replacing them.  He also suggested replacing two of the fixed windows with awning-style windows - a nice addition that has improved airflow in our house.

Although he quoted us 5 to 7 weeks for installation, the windows arrived weeks early - a pleasant surprise.  Michael was true to his word - we didn't spend a dime more than what he quoted us, he cleaned up the mess before he left, and he had the job completed within two days (more like a day and a half).  The windows look great, and do a better job of matching the house's trim than our previous windows.

A few minor issues... some of the external caulking cracked and fell out within a week of installation - Michael was told us he will come and take care of it.  Windows were left pretty dirty and trim was marked up (primed, but had black marks on it, which will make it tougher to paint); a bit of dry wall needed to be spackled and was done a little hastily.  A few plants outside one window were trampled.

Overall, though, a very pleasant experience.  No tracking of dirt through the house, very easy to work with, and Michael had answers to all our questions.  Unlike some general contractors who also do windows, Michael really seems to know his craft - he was able to find the right windows for us at the (relatively) right price.  We'll be coming back to him when it comes time to replace our other windows!

Finding good quality windows that would be in the style of our 1926 colonial and be affordable was a challenge. We had the original double-hung mullioned windows all through the house. We wanted windows that would be energy efficient, complement the french doors at the front of the house, and maintain it's character. We went with Marvin replacement windows with a primed wood interior and aluminum clad exterior. Michael gave us a price on the windows that was competitive with other contractors who showed us aluminum clad casement windows only. Michael helped us with our decisions and is incredibly detail-oriented and patient. We used mullioned double-hung windows at the front of the house, (which look great with the original french doors) and used casement windows for the rest. We were able to maintain the look of the house but really appreciate the clean lines and ease of use of the the casement windows as well. Plus they're all easy to clean. When Michael bid on the job he said he was very neat and it would be only be him and one other person doing the job. He said it would take 3 days. I remember he said "you won't even find a staple left over". He was totally true to his word. It took 3 days, he's incredibly neat and a truly nice guy. He's the real deal and I'd recommend his work with wholeheartedly.

Michael Soren and his assistant Mack did excellent work on our window replacement project. We selected Marvin windows based on published reviews, and were referred to Michael by WindowRama where we purchased the windows. In his initial presentation, Michael showed us photos of his work. He is proud of it, and we think rightly so. He carried out the job in a professional manner -- showing up on time, working steadily until it was done, and leaving the job site clean at the end.

From the start Michael Soren was very professional. Mr Soren was very patient and took the time to help us decide which window make and model to choose. Mr Soren and his assistant installed all the windows, and they were the cleanest contractors I've ever used. When Mr Soren heard that our youngest daughter suffered from asthma he went the extra mile and made sure everything was covered and her bedroom was taped and sealed. Mr Soren is very knowledgeable and passionate about his trade. He preformed extra worked for me without charge and does excellent work. All the windows look beautiful inside and out. I will be hiring Mr Soren to replace my front door in the near future.

The head of Resco is Michael Soren. He is also the chief laborer for the entire job. Michael's work is of the highest quality. And he is also a perfectionist. If an existing iron gate or grill had to be removed during an installation, the gate or grill was re-installed afterwards. The interior wood trim and framing was beautifully finished.

Incredible. From the moment we met Michael, we felt he was a craftsman and the one we wanted to do the work. He had great recommendations as far as window choices as well. The entire job was done in less than five days. There were even a couple of casings that he replaced (and wouldn't let us pay for more than materials) because the existing conditions bothered his sense of artistry! We look forward to having him back and hope to have him work on our entry way.
