We hired another contractor on 9/22/07 to repair damage from installation of wrong windows, including replacement of new windows, another supply company was helpful with us in ordering the new windows, they were the original company that had ordered the wrong windows based on Jim Strickland's window order. The other contractor & his team were able to complete the entire project in 3 weeks, which included replacing sloppy siding (a good wind would take it off), redo roof repair that JS did, reorder & replace the windows, & repair the existing windows & woodwork that was damaged by JS. They also replaced the front doors, & were very professional & sympathetic to our plight. Our home was left in an absoulute mess, including trash on our roof & in our garage left by Jim Strickland. The other contractor took care of the problem in a very timely courteous manner, with communication & estimates given throughout the entire process. His professionalism & knowledge shows.
Description of Work: We hired Jim Strickland in May of this year to replace windows, wrap all windows (22), side the upper half of our home, repair part of a roof, redo soffit work- both upper & lower portion, replace 2 front doors, & chimney work. Many problems were encountered, from wrong windows being ordered & wrong windows replaced to damage to the molding around the windows. Sloppy replacement of siding that needed to be replaced by another company. The windows that he replaced all needed to be redone by another company. Partial work on soffit, actually left the job with part of my old soffit hanging in front of my house in August. Did send letters of request to finish the job with another contractor supervising, no response. Considered the job abandoned. Hired a contractor from Chittenango, who did an absolute wonderful job repairing all the damage. We currently have hired an attorney to represent us in this case, actual total cost of this job is $31,200.
