These people trashed my basement. This all started with a little seepage of water under the steps only when it rained really hard. Once a year or maybe twice. It turned into a $15,100 project. The first quote I got was for $5760. Half way thru the project he decided to add $9400 more. First of all, the steps were removed and put back in crooked. Put a bolt in the side of the steps to hold them and did not put them in place with the floor in garage. Trash the carpet on the stairs. Even put the carpet back on the steps and thru part of the padding out. The wall on the side of the steps where they removed a block was put back in on an angle. The cement work was a big mess everywhere in the basement. They removed the wash sink and put it back crooked and leaking. Sink was far from being level. The wires coming out of the breaker box on the wall had been cut into and then capped off and left hanging. That was against codes. At the bottom of the steps there now is a dip in the floor because they do not know how to cement. All the cement work around the basement was far from being level..not even close. Then they brushed the cement and the rest of the floor is smooth. They have a trench all the way around the basement and put in a black drip edge to catch the water running down the walls is what I was told. It was a disaster. I did not have water running down the walls in the first place. I was told he charged me so much because my concrete floor was 8 inches thick and not the normal 6 inches thick. That was no true. There were 2 holes left in the floor where they did not put any mortar mix and of course I got some lame excuse for that issue. I cried over this for 3 months that these people could use and abuse someone like this. I had 3 other basement people come in after to see this mess and they told me I been taken to the cleaners. There was no excuse for this kind of work and by all means the price was totally outrageous. I finally called Richard Dame after I sent him a certified letter. I gave him one chance to fix things or I was turning him in. I told him I did not want the same people that were here before and he still sent one the guys back that was here before. They did some fixing and tried to level out there cement job but it is still not correct. They ordered a new piece of carpet for the stairs and put that on. Then there was air pockets on each step because it was to wide. Did not use staples that were long enough. Cut the bottom all crooked. It is just never ending. I am still trying to patch some of there big mess up. This is what happens when you are a widow and someone takes advantage of you. I guess Mr. Dame worked this very well. Also when I told him that he overcharged me $9400 more than any other contractor he said that was not so. Well it is because I had one contractor here that does work for the city. He told me around $5000. to do what he did. I don't think I will ever get over this incident. I do not recommend this contractor to anyone
