Absolute chaos. First of all, let me say that the OFFICE STAFF were fantastic, helpful and patient. It's not their fault that the techs were a random lot. For the most part, they would show up late, every day, work slowly, take long, extended lunches without announcing that they were leaving, and finish up their workday early (usually around 2). So each "full day" of work was only about 4.5 hours of actual work. I called their supervisors on an almost daily basis to complain, even finally having to call Honeywell directly. Every day or two, it was a new crew of workers, no consistency -- sometimes 1, more often 2, once or twice, 3. Often, they didn't seem to know what the previous shift had done. They made messes everywhere and did some damage to our ceilings that they DID NOT REPAIR. They were also often careless; one crew left a 14-ft ladder leaning upright against the house all night; another guy had turned off the hot water valve in our house to do some work, and forgot to turn it back on - when I discovered the gaffe, I tried to turn it back on, but he had turned it so tight, I couldn't get it back open again. We went a night and a subsequent morning without hot water. Their repairs ran 2 weeks+ longer than expected, which cost us dearly in missed work and child care, not to mention forcing us to change or cancel several sets of plans. A COMPLETE disaster. The ONLY 2 reasons this is a "D" and not an "F" -- 1.) Jessica and Robin in the PEACE main office (Syracuse downtown location), wonderful, both of them; 2.) The work, after all, was free.
ON TOP OF ALL THAT, for two months, we have been trying to get the overseeing gov't entity (don't know the exact name of the overseeing agency, but I have their contact info) to come out and inspect the work done, including the damage, and for TWO WHOLE MONTHS, I have not been able to get them out here at a time that works for my hectic schedule, and they steadfastly refuse to operate outside their minimal hours. Case in point: We had an appointment for this past October 19, but they cancelled it, saying that 2pm on a Friday was just too late for their people to come out and do the survey. So I have additional concerns about accountability and oversight. Still trying to get them out here. Will update if necessary.
