We purchased a home that was newly built and only lived in by the prior owners for one year.  The prior owners of our home and many neighbors all used Lewis paving for their driveways.  When we bought our home,  the driveway had just recently been installed and looked to be in good condition.  The prior owner left Lewis paving's phone number with us so we could schedule the 2nd phase top coat the following Spring/Summer.  At this point, some of our neighbors' driveways whom also paved with Lewis were cracking and heaving badly.  Ours wasn't yet, but it was just one year old.  Our water main is in our driveway, and when I had Lewis out to quote the 2nd phase top coat, I pointed out that the binder coat was already within less than one inch of the water main cap.  The top coat is supposed to be 2" thick, and when I asked how that would be possible since the binder was already so high, the Lewis paving contractor recommended we just pave right over the top of our water main!!  He said they do it all the time! That raised a huge red flag with me, and we decided not to top coat the driveway that Summer since it was apparent it wasn't installed properly.  Shortly thereafter, the driveway began to break apart after a huge rain storm, and you could literally step on the driveway and it would spring up like a sponge! My husband dug out that spongy large section to do a large patch to fix it, and that's when we discovered that Lewis did not even dig out the driveway, it was literally just 1/2" of binder on top of dirt and a small amount of crush!  They basically just dumped a thin layer of binder material on top of the crap the builders put down when constructing a new home!  Everyone that used Lewis paving has had to completely replace their driveway, or is currently living with a very ugly driveway that needs to be replaced and this is a new development!  We have since been saving up to have our hideous driveway completely torn out and re-paved, which we didn't expect to need to do since the house is still so new!  I would warn anyone against using this unethical company!

He did an excellent job. He came 15 minutes earlier than he said he would. Everyone was very polite. Overall, just excellent work.
