My wife and I asked the electrician to install the second floor alarm on the wall so that it would be effective yet unobtrusive. The electrician installed the alarm (one strobe, and one controller) in the middle of the ceiling. Three or four thick Romex wires extend out from the alarm. It is very unattractive and spoils the ambience of the second floor. In all fairness to the electrician, there may have been some confusion about the location for the second floor alarm. I wanted the alarm on the wall so as to be less obtrusive, while my wife was concerned about making sure the alarm was visible to everyone sleeping on the second floor. The electrician chose to center the alarm in the center of the ceiling, and it is aesthetically unacceptable. When we asked the company to relocate the alarm to a spot less obtrusive, it demanded more money. Having already spent $750, I was reluctant to do so. Notwithstanding the fact the company said it would come back to fix the problem, and notwithstanding the fact we promptly sent a check for $750, we have not heard from the company. Because we haven't heard back from the company, we are working with someone else to fix the problem. Based on the above, we will not work with JF Knaul again.

First, Jeff returned my call and apologized for not calling back more timely - he had been out of town. We discussed what I needed and he said he would call when he had time in his schedule. He called about 2 weeks later and came that day. He was late leaving his prior site and called to tell me he would be later than scheduled. I showed him what I wanted. Due to the construction of the hous what I wanted was not possible but he made suggestions for alternatives that worked just as well. He did the work quickly, cleaned up after himself. $65.00 for the work done, no additional service charge. He was personable and I'd certanly use him and recommend him to friends.

He seemed to know what he was doing. He found some things that the house inspector did not find and they were some serious issues. He showed up on time and kept on task and stayed true to the estimate. His professionalism and honest stood out the most. He took care of everything and cleaned it all up. He was very responsible.

Called John earlier in week. He answered the phone but said he was in the middle of a job and could he call me back that evening. I agreed and he called as he promised. Appointment set for Friday morning. He called before the appointment time to tell me he was running 10-15 minutes late (which I thanked him for calling to let me know) and then arrived 15 minutes after the originally scheduled time. So far so good. He promptly encountered the very same problems I had come up against when I had tried to install the track the weekend before. He and his helper involved me in discussing the options to resolve the issues and the end result was a clean, professional and wonderful installation that brought to life what I had envisioned for my dining area. He took time to make sure everything was done as close to perfection as humanly possible and cleaned up thoroughly after the work was completed. What would ordinarily have taken him an hour or so (if there were not tricky issues involved) turned out to be closer to three hours. He apologized for all the complications (none of which were his fault in the least) and he charged me for two hours which was more than reasonable. I was right to realize my limitations and use an electrician to finish this work and I am very glad I chose John. I would definitely use him again in the future.

We found this electrician on this list and called him. We nleft a msg on his service but we were very hard to get back to as we are always on the go but he did not give up on us! He made the appt. right away, came promptly, was very clean, curteous and efficiant. We were very pleased with his fee and will have him here if ever needed again!

We contacted this businss as we needed the work done on the weekend. We were told that he could come on Saturday morning and would call 30 minutes before arriving. He did call and arrived 30 minutes later and completed the work in one and a half hours. Very courteous and imformative as he explained everything he was doing and how to safeguard the lights we chose to ensure proper functioning. Gave us alot of valuable information. He had the parts on his truck that we didn't realize we would need. The $100.00 charge including parts was more than fair.

Put house up for sale on Wednesday. First prospect coming on Friday. Tried to install a new pullchain light fixture in the laundry room of my 80 year old home. The wiring was more complicated than i thought and i ended up knocking power out of half my house. My wife called John in a panic Friday night. John called us back at 8:30 Friday night and was at our home at 10:30 Saturday morning. John tackled the problem like a pro and even helped fix a doormant doorbell that i hadn't used in years for no charge. Even replaced the old doorbell button from one he had in his truck. Since the price he charged me was so reasonable i asked if he could look at a faulty closet switch in my spare bedroom. He didn't have a replacment switch in his truck but drew a diagram on how to fix it on the back of the invoice he gave me. It's reassuring to know i have found an electrician i can trust for future jobs. I would recommend John Knaul in a heartbeat.

I turned on a light in my home and several circuits blew out. I checked the breaker and none of the switches were tripped. I put in a call to John Knaul and left a message. He got back to me within hours, and it was Sunday. I called him back late and he came the next morning, on time. He explained what he was looking for as he worked, and that made me feel good about the process. He was here for several hours and found the source of the short out despite the fact that it would not short out while he was here. He did a few other things that needed attention before he left, and charged me a very reasonable amount for the time and the parts required to finish the job. He was polite and answered my questions with respect and thoroughness that amazed me. I will definitely call him again.

Excellent quality and service. He's very professional and he does very good quality work. I would highly recommend him for both big and small electrical work. He's done new construction and even some commercial work, but is also willing to do small jobs as well. He even talked me through a minor repair on the phone that he thought I could do myself! And he was right.
