This was the most horrible experience I have ever had with a contractor.
I cannot even begin to explain how disgusted I am with this company. He came to us professing his professionalism and his guarantee of our satisfaction. We made an agreement at our first meeting, and agreed on a price. He came back to me twice after that for more money. He wanted to start immediately, and began painting, while we were out of town, despite the fact the the weather was not appropriate for exterior painting. It was snowing outside when he had his crew begin painting!
He rushed the job, and the work he did was of horrendous quality. He did no sanding of surfaces, and painted over hugely chipped surfaces, including pillars on the front of the home. He missed a lot of patches on the trim, didn't do entire areas, painted over doorknobs and hardware, and left slops of pain on our newly installed siding.
When I reviewed his work, he became irate, and defended his work as of good quality. I was appalled and angry. He screamed at me, told me I was impossible, and eventually walked off the job. I was not sorry to see him leave. I was concerned that he would only damage my home further. I asked him to leave the remaining paint, and paint chip samples I had provided, and he did not do so.
When he left, he left a a large sheet metal chimney liner on our three story roof, which our neighbor noted, and which was an outrageous safety hazard. A strong wind could have taken that off and destroyed property, or even worse, caused serious injury to my family, neighbors or passers-by. I contacted him on multiple occasions to remedy this safety hazard, he made multiple appointments, and kept none of them. That problem was eventually taken care of by a concerned neighbor with a very long extension ladder.
I am embarrassed by the paint job on my house, which I will have to eventually have completely redone.
Not only would I not recommend this contractor, I would actively warn potential consumers to run, not walk away from this company.

It went great. John and his crew were there in the morning every day, on time, ready to go. They stayed until the site was cleaned, didn't leave a mess over night, cleaned neighbors driveways, helped neighbors with a small patch job... explained themselves every step of the way, gave honest answers and were generally upstanding, straightforward, and very, very nice. Highly recommended for good work, good attitude, and good results.
