His and Hers Fix-Its is ( A Division of Reno Build Services) Syracuse-based, small business run by a husband and wife team with 40+ years combined experience in home remodels, repairs and overall home maintenance. Serving Onondaga County, all work is completed by the contractor and as jobs require with the help of his wife, the general manager. Independant contractors will be referred for work not within the range of that described for this company. Jobs are priced per project or repair so that customers can feel confident the work is being done cost-effectively. We've recently expanded our growing business and added maintenance plan reports, buddy repairs and project coaching to offer the customer more ways to save money. Adjustments were made to work due to issues you outlined and this is a review that has come after 4 attempts to follow up with you. "We informed you right away of the problems with the drier vent emptying onto the porch before the deck was sealed. The pressure wash and sealant was applied with that condition . A re configuration of the venting system would be required to avert peeling of paint or sealant."

We are sorry for your dissatisfaction however my file from the day seems to indicate that the enthusiasm and knowledge we showed on the job was interpreted as bad temper. "We had pointed out with several pictures that a drier duct was run under the house dumping continual moisture onto the deck that was peeling. This caused peeling and several communications before and after were attempted to resolve and since you not at the property , you tenant was to relay communication. We told you we would follow up and the attempted mediation contained different detail from here in noted. We are sorry but we went above and beyond in our work and could have worked it out with direct communication between customer who hired us and our worker. This experience helped us decide that it is not prudent to complete work with third party observers or tenants who remove the chance of good communication. "Thank you for your review, however, as stated on our signed contract the visit stated that in fact, we could not guarantee a fix of the problem and that you had agreed to the process, being potentially a few steps from solved. You said you had suspected your drain to be the problem, and we went in and reported what we saw, and did re seal the drain area. We followed up as we say we did, we came out and saw that the ceiling was dry. We did not charge for an additional visit. I told you also that we had found that the shower kit was rusted in place and hard to remove without completely cutting it and getting into a big repair. We suggested, we send you a report,in fact I called and said, if you wished another company to see what we took pictures of and did, it would help them for a deeper probe into pipe and bigger repair. You said it wasn't necessary, and "I will give a good reference." Sort of surprised, when this review came out. We suggested a ramp for your stairs because it would make things easier for your family up and down the stairs, missing that item. You said not right now, and I replied, "don;t worry, when you are ready, if you want you will let us know". We never pushed anything. You hired us for an investigation to a leak that would take a few procedures to narrow down. This was understood at hire. told him it needed 2. They didn't have all the hangers that they needed and
used some of mine. I only had them because I saved some from my other apartment.
They said they would be back around the 1st of April and it would be another
$2-300 for the rest of them. They were nice people, not very professional.

"It was nice to have the opportunity, however, we put up over 26 pieces. There was not complete organization as to where they were put from your point.So this took the extra time. Because of the state of pictures in boxes when we first made our site survey, there were some damaged as you remarked, we took extra time to make sure the pictures were.where you wanted them. Warped pieces as we explained would not hang straight on the wall. A mutual decision was to not put them up. Also due to none of the pictures being able to be seen front and back at the site survey, it would impossible to assess all the hardware, but we brought two full boxes and the discount to you included using hardware you offered to us.MY second helper logged everything done and, at end of visit you were appearing pleased. I explained that $15 per piece hung is fair, but as time went on, we accommodated extra items you wanted hung while we were there. The total cost of $390 was discounted to $300.00. And the $300.00 charged was for the originally intended hanging of the 15 pieces, including some sensitive artwork, and shelving and art pieces.. A recorded message our phone a week or so after the work, included your testimony to "excellent work" so, : Also our management followed up offering a cash rebate because we were not able to hang the remainder (which was a huge task) in the first work visit. We wish you well in future, but if you sign off on a repair, at the site and leave a recorded message which I retain in record complimenting us for our professionalism and work, it is no doubt curious that you leave a review to the opposite on Angie's List. If you care to discuss this with me, which I attempted to initiate the last time after called and left the very complimentary message, and reconsider your thinking, a rebate may still be salvageable. But , at this juncture, may I just say, Good Luck in future, and when sometime tried hard to help, help them by being open and honest, about what the work really requires and the true efforts that went in. "I am sorry for your experience and want to just remind you that a follow up call was made to you right after the work was done. The call was in response to your concern. The reason for the blue piping was explained and checked by you and accepted by our discussion at the time of the work. As promised I followed up and agreed to meet with you, and we did check back to make sure there were no leaks. (there were none) You were not well and did not want to meet with me and told me things were "okay". Also we stayed within your budget, a great concern of yours, with industry standard piping used in these situations. Should you still feel there is a resolution needed, I would like to put you in contact with the person now handling customer concerns in our company.
