Peter was there 15 minutes early and began looking at the outside of the house. Explaining in detail issues that needed to be rectified and also giving us an idea of the cost involved in the repair. He was so thorough and patient. Pointing out the positives and the negatives. We felt comfortable enough to ask questions and for further explanations. We were very impressed with his knowledge.

The home inspection process went very well. Peter was prompt in arrival and professional in performance of his work. The inspection was performed as if the house were being considered for purchase by a buyer. He explained everything as he performed the inspection, took numerous photographs, answered questions, made suggestions (from a seller's viewpoint as I had requested) and recommendations for work to be performed immediately and situations to be monitored. The prioritization of need was very beneficial to me as a homeowner.

We selected Peter Apgar and Craftsman Home Inspection Services because he specializes in older homes. The house we wanted was built in 1913. Peter was easy to reach and replied promptly when necessary. He arrived at the house a few minutes early on a snowy day. He was prepared with all sorts of bad-weather gear. His inspection took two full hours (it's and lt;2,000 square feet, so not a big house) and there wasn't a door, outlet, nook, or cranny he didn't open, test, poke, and prod. He identified a few problems (nothing too big) and gave us a timeline of when they should be addressed. As first-time home owners, this was valuable information. He also was enthusiastic about some parts of the house and helped us feel confident in our decision.
He inspected the house on a Sunday afternoon and we had the full report within 24 hours.
I've already recommended Pete to a friend and will call him again -- if we ever move.

Peter inspected both our first home and our current home. I can't exactly remember the pricing so I'm just guessing at that. He is very professional and his reports are very detailed. Peter is very knowledgeable in his field and really knows old houses well. I recommend him to anyone I know buying a house.

Pete met us at the house right on time and walked us through the entire inspection. He showed us areas for improvement, areas of concern, and recommended things that can or should be done to correct the issues. He even checked every single outlet in the house! We feel comfortable knowing where the issues are and more educated on what needs to be done.

Radon detection was placed two days in advance of inspection as asked. Peter showed up early to the inspection and had already viewed and photographed the roof before we got there. He went over with us what he saw and then we continued the inspection of the home. He photographed problem areas and explained everything as he went. He answered all questions that we had to the best of his knowledge. Very personable and great to work with. He saw everything that we had seen on the previous walk-through, as well as informing us of a few things we had not noticed. The typed report (with photos) was in my inbox just 3 hours after we left the house! I would highly recommend.

I was selling our house and we had a high radon reading. I checked Angies list and found Craftsman and called for an estimate. They were very fast to respond and did a very professional job.

I selected Craftsman Home Inspection based on co-worker recommendations. I also liked that Craftsman specializes in inspecting older homes, as the house I was buying was 60+ years old. My inspection and radon testing were scheduled and completed promptly and Pete was extremely professional and knowledgeable. As a first time home buyer I found the knowledge gained from Pete's explanations during the various steps of the inspection to be invaluable. Pete also provided tips on some easy improvements that I could do immediately to minimize heat loss and prevent possible water damage, and advice on things to watch out for in the future. Within one day of the completed inspection I received a detailed report, complete with pictures. A nice bonus is that the report is available online for 5 years for future reference. In summary, a positive experience from start to finish - I would definitely use Peter Apgar/Craftsman Home Inspections's services again and will recommend to others.
