Colson's Movers

We needed a mover at the last minute because of a delayed closing. All the well rated movers on Angie's list were unable to move us within our time frame. We found Colson's moving online.Terrance Colson called us immediately after receiving our online inquiry. He quoted us $100 per hour, said the move should take about 4 hours, and asked for 50% down through pay pal.We agreed, set a 10am Friday move time, and sent Colson's the money.Colsons did not show up at 10 or at 11 at which time we started calling; the calls were answered by an answering machine. At about 3pm we heard from Mr. Colson, who said they had been delayed by a previous move and would be at the house within the hour.At 4pm, three workers showed up in an old, mid-sized pickup truck. No ramp and no appliance truck. They asked if the contents of our garage was what was to be moved. I told them that no, it was the contents of our house they were expected to move. They remarked that they would "need a big truck for that". I pointed out that a large truck was just what I anticipated they would bring.At that point I asked them to simply load up their truck with what they could and make a number of trips (1 mile) for the amount of our deposit. They could not get permission from their boss to do so. I sent them on their way with a request for a return of our deposit. We were forced to rent a trailer the next day and fortunately found two workers to help us.We have had no response to our request for a refund and no apology for the h*** we were put through. This company is totally unprofessional at best.
