Let me start by saying we like Frank's design sense. The problem lies in his execution & follow through. The deck was completed in April of 2009. We informed him within the first month that the deck was leaking from underneath. We contacted him to let him know, he came by to look, saw that it was leaking and said that he would be back to fix it. This same scenario happened at least 5 times over the next couple of years; we called, he came by, promised to come back and fix the leak. He never returned to fix the leak. It wasn't until we spotted Frank doing some work at a neighbors house in September of 2011 and forced him to again come over and look at the problem. It had gotten so bad that when it rained we could not use the sliding door to the patio as there was a curtain of water flowing down from the underside of the deck.I took off some thin aluminum that Frank had wrapped around the main support beam at the end of the deck and found that there had been massive leaking onto this beam to the point where it was completely waterlogged, soggy and covered with black mold. Once Frank saw the extent of the damage, he informed us that the kitchen job we had anticipated giving him was not large enough to warrant the amount of work needed to repair the deck. He left the property, we called him the next day, offered to pay him to repair the deck, he said no, we were good customers, maybe just pay for supplies. Frank removed the decking and found that there were a few reasons for the leaks. The main one was that the angled plywood he placed under the top deck did not have flashing on the end to direct the rain water into the gutter. The water was wrapping & wicking around the underside of the plywood & pouring onto and around the support beam , coming back towards the house and filling up the plastic ceiling underneath. Adequate sealing between the joists and the angled support pieces was never done correctly. Frank replaced the main support beam, resealed all of the connections at each joist, then added aluminum at the end of each angled piece to make sure the water flowed into the gutter. While removing the decking, he gouged & broke boards, broke guard rails & dripped black sealant on the boards, rails & patio below. The sealant has now permanently stained everything it touched.By the way, the deck still leaks. Towards the end of the finishing work, Frank asked us if we wanted to see $1,000.00 worth of receipts that he had in his truck for the repair job. When we responded yes, he packed up & walked off the job site. Of course, we never were shown a receipt. He never finished the job either. He did leave construction debris in the yard as well as some of his equipment. This was in the end of October 2011. In January 2012, Frank sent a worker into our yard, without permission & removed the equipment. Not a doorbell was rung or a phone call made. We called Frank & again he promised to finish the failed repair job. Once again, a no show! Intentions are good, follow through is horrendous!!! Not doing any more work for us!!
Description of Work: The last project he did was a second story deck off of our bedroom that was supposed to be a permanent, water-tight cover over an existing patio below.

Worst ever. The molding was not primed or sanded and weeks later the nail holes shown through as well as cracks. New doors were not sanded and the paint on the window casings weren't primed. I had someone come in for 15k to repair his work and he said that it was the worst job he had ever seen. He even used plywood for the wainscotting in the dining room so the new guy is trying to repair the seams, but he said it's kind of hopeless. Frank also installed a new mantle over my fireplace that is now coming out of the brick. I am writing this so nobody will ever hire this man again. Awful awful job.
Description of Work: Installed new molding in house and painted interior. Wainscotting in dining room.
