BROOKVILLE CABINETRY & MILLWRK

Henry David Rothchild is a brilliant  designer and his concepts and designs were magnificent.   If he would build what he drew i would be happier.    Before we signed the contracts he showed my wife and i all these magnificent woodwork and cabinetry.  well my millwork is not all wood  he use lower grade mdf materials instead but i had no recourse because it was in the fine print of the contract. the $50000 wall unit was not build to the plans we signed on and had to be mutilated on site to allow room for our window treatments.  the cabinet was to be build 5 inches of the wall  it was built to the wall .   I had to be cut back mutilating the look of the upper crown moulding.  He took 25,000 in dec 2011 and promised to complete the job in 8 to 12 weeks  he is still not finished .  his estimates were proor and his cost overruns were un reasonable.. he drew detail plans for modeling work to scale. yet thef did not show me that we needed to move 20 outlets wall switches and ac ducts to accomplish the plans. he had to know this before the estimate was submitted but i was not make aware of this until the got in the way and that i need about $4000 site work in addition to the estimated..  no recrouse it was in the fine print.  he still has not replaced the grills on the ac vents he moved.  His workers were very nice but sloppy. can you imagine a carpenter not bring a shop vac to a job.. his team borrowed ladders, tools, and vacuums for my other trades on the job.  they did not clean every day. The electric to this cabinet was never connected so i do not know if it works.  at this point I owe him $3500 on $89000 worth of work and things are unfinished on not as promised and he is pestering for the money.  the whole experience has been a nightmare  weeks of not showing up to work, excuse after excuse.  he takes such large deposits and demands payments as he goes so that he is always way ahead of the job so you can't get out.  he took $25000 to build the $50000 wall unit in December 2011 and did not start the wall unit until May 2012 .   this was to be a 8 to 12 week project.
