Financially the company does not have enough resources to complete a project from start to finish. Upon receipt of advance, they began work with no issue. About two weeks in, the add ons began at exorbitant prices. After the second add on was paid for, I told them to finish the job to the best of their ability with no more additional costs. At this point, he reduced the number of workers, they came in at 10am and left at 3pm and the quality of work was noticeably different. Four months in I realized the project was not going to be completed. I put a deadline in place once it was evident he didn't have the money for the appliances or the wood flooring; Jay Valana and his men walked off the job. Paying his advances only delayed the inevitable.
The employees have no skills other than painting, manual labor and light carpentry. Mr. Valana does not work himself.
There was no knowledge of NYC regulations. I received a stop order and violation from DOB in the first week of work.
Plenty of add-on jobs. Very expensive and require immediate payment. Left the job once the money ran out. Wasted four months of my time and now involved in a lawsuit. Good luck.
