STATWOOD HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Excellent. All went according to plan.

Everything went extremely well. Mike Krause, President of Statwood, came to survey the work that needed to be done, show us the possibilities and advantages of their windows, and provide us with a proposal. He was the only one of the three vendors we contacted to thoroughly inspect all of the windows, inside and out. Mike Veneziale, Project Manager, always kept us informed, and the crew that did the installation was skilled and professional. They did excellent work, took care to cover and protect the furniture, beds, crib, etc. and thoroughly cleaned up when they were done. We are very pleased with this contractor.

Teri in the showroom was wonderful at helping us choose the doors, looking at photos of our house and discussing possibilities, pros, and cons.  They came immediately and took measurements, and the doors came sooner than projected.  The 2 man team who installed the doors were adept and professional, completing all three installations in one day.  We have used Statwood before, and will use them again.

We were extremely pleased with the level of service that all members of Statwood showed us. Beginning with the owner, Mike K., to the foreman, Mike V., and the craftsmen, the professionalism, courtesy, and superior skill set displayed made our dealing with Stafford a pleasure. Additionally, the quality of steel doors was superior.
Finally, and so importantly, Statwood stands by their promise "to please their customers." 

No one wanted to help us with this small job except one company that was way overpriced with a poor plan including replacing tiles. Mike V from Statwood stated he would replace window from the outside so as not to disturb the tile job. He kept my old cedar shake and tile intact and replaced a window that has been malfunctioning for years at a reasonable price. He was communicative during the process, came up with a smooth plan, sent excellent skilled workers, and gave us a good quality job. I will use him for all door and window replacements in the future and highly and  continuously recommend him. It means alot when a company will follow through with a small meticulous job and not turn their back to do something more worthwhile monetarily-that is character and what makes them stand out as a winner company.

We were very happy when they installed our siding, but we did a few issues with the windows they installed previously. The handles on the encasement windows were striped on a few of the ones they installed. On top of that, the fasteners that held the screens in broke on some of the windows when being removed. It was very difficult to replace them and I had to use a make-shift solution.

Sales, supervisor and workmen were professional and polite.  They were neat, efficient and installed everything properly.  However, because of an existing problem in the section of the roof where the skylight was installed, there was a return of a previous leak several weeks later after a severe rainstorm. Though source of the problem was only indirectly related to the actual installation location(which was apparently very well sealed), the supervisor took responsibility and was very obliging in tackling the tricky issue and after 2 attempts apparently succeeded - since it's been quite a long time and there were several heavy rains with strong winds and no more leaks.
The personnel were all great and knew their stuff. Everything was installed perfectly.  I believe that is the most important thing.  My only reservation about the company would be-- what they claim is a strength: they only carry products from one vendor and therefore have a limited selection. 

They did a great job.  They detailed all that would be done, put all in writing and scheduled a time that would be convenient for me.  Everything went exactly as they said and I had no issues.  I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.  Service was professional and work was excellent.

They are incredibly professional and knowledgable. We dealt with Terry and Mike V and were so pleased with their service. They even returned to make a small adjustment to the door and make a small repair on the door frame - all at no charge and so fast. We will defnintely use statwood in the future.

A company as good as Statwood doesn't  come along that frequently. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The quality of their product is great and their service is worth a million dollars. Trust me - I have had some no so great experiences with home improvement/service companies and they are one of the best.

They did an incredible job. We couldn't have been more impressed with their work, their professionalism in helping us to make selections, and the quality of the work. The specialist teams that installed the siding, garage and leaders wese great, and the main project team combined incredible energy with tremendous workmanship.  I would particularly thank Terry in the showroom who helped us to make often difficult decisions, Project Manager Mike V. who came up with a great way to install the decorative trim around the front door when it seemed that nothing would fit, and Henry and his crew who made the work look easy (which is hard to do with a complex project!)
I highly recommend the people at Statwood to you for your next project.

I could not have been more satisfied with the quality of the work and thought the price was very fair.

The owner came in person to evaluate the situation and took all the measurements himself. someone else came a while later to confirm that the measurements were accurate. There was a 6-7 week wait for the windows and were all installed on a Saturday within just a few hours. It was great, the workers were friendly and did a great job. If I had the money I would gladly do my whole house.

Job went well with installation done in a day. Only glitch was the brick work below the window was loose and was taken down. Had to have a masonry person come in and redo the brick work below the window and then Statwood back to caulk below the window.

Professional and courteous, neat and prompt. Can't say enough about this company.

Statwood did a major renovation to the outside of our home. The work included replacement of all windows, replacement of a large bow window, replacement of the front and sliding-glass back doors, complete siding of the entire house, new gutters, leaders and downspouts, a new garage door and replacement of an old screen-room in the back of the house with what I would call a 3-season room. | |We are extremely pleased with the results. Statwood's Teri Kenny helped us in selecting colors, the door and the stained glass pattern. Her experience and counsel was greatly appreciated. Mike V. coordinated the entire project, getting all of the pieces and people into place. Henry and his crew did the windows, doors, bow window, and the 3-season room. Other specialists handled the siding, gutters and garage door installations. They all did fine work. Henry and his guys were always on time, and did amazing work. Their attention to detail and the overall quality was remarkable. For example, the way our front door sits in a portico made it very difficult to fit the surrounding trim to get the proportions right. Mike and Henry worked together and came up with a solution that led to a perfect result. | |The only issues we had, for full transparency, was that one window that was supposed to be made with obscure glass showed up with clear glass. (Statwood immediately put in a re-order for the entire window, and as soon as it arrived, installed it.) The door came with a mail slot, when we had ordered a larger version called a "magazine slot". (They immediately ordered the necessary parts, and Henry came by and installed it.) | |So, all and all, did we pay more than if we bought everything separately and acted as our own general contractor? Probably we did, but this was a very large project, and it was vital that all of the pieces be properly coordinated. The window and siding had to be timed to allow the windows to be capped. The 3-season room project had to coordinate with the siding to allow for exact placement of the material to attach the room to the house. Getting it done by one company -- Statwood -- made sense in terms of getting it right and getting the quality of work we wanted. We saw several neighbors who served as their own general contractor for projects, and that convinced us that having one company work with us was definitely the way we wanted to go. If we had to do it again, we would do it the same way, and we would use Statwood. | |Finally, I wanted to say that one of the reasons we chose Statwood over other vendors we met with was their rating and reviews on Angie's List. The postings that other members took the time to write helped us, and we hope that this review will help you. However you choose to have your work done, we wish you the best and for great results.

When my husband and I went to the Statwood showroom, we were greeted by a wonderful sales rep Terry. She was very polite and informative. Terry helped us with making our final decision. We valued her input.
The workers/installers were very efficient, polite and worked diligently. They answered all my questions and were very patient with me. I would definitely use them again. They have been in business on Staten Island for over 70+ years. I would be happy to refer them to anyone who needs this type of product and work!

Very professional company. Not cheap, but the quality of their product is superior to all. They were fast, neat and punctual. They even reused what I thought was a broken down storm door and installed it like it was new. This saved me over $1,000.00. They responded immediately and performed a minor adjustment on the door they installed. They are easy to deal with and stand behind their products and work. I highly recommend this company.

We replaced all of our windows 50 years ago with them and we just recently replaced a portion of them. They are of great quality. You can't beat the service. They come exactly when they say they will. It is a family owned business. Their prices are competitive and well worth it.

The installer came very quickly to take measurements and he also took my sliding screen door to get remeshed. When I called to check on things I left a message on an answering machine which was not returned. The following day I called again and was able to get an idea of when my door would be ready. I was told that it looked like it would be the following week. That's exactly when Sandy hit. So about a week later I called to find out what was going on between the delivery of my door and how the Hurricane had affected them. I left a message with the person who answered the telephone and again my call was not returned. So the following day I dropped by the showroom and was told that the installer would definitly call me back on that day, which he did. The installation date was set and after that everything went very well.
There is no doubt that Sandy complicated matters and I was afraid that I would get lost in the shuffle. But in the end I was pretty happy with the installation of my door and the work on my sliding screen door.
My only suggestion is it's always best to return calls even it's just to say I don't have any information right now. If this had happened the first time I wouldn't have given it a second thought when it happened again after the chaos of Sandy.

I ordered my original storm windows from them 50 years ago. They can't be beat. To this day I am still using all of them. They are good. My basement storm windows were $10. They seemed to be better than a big box company. All of the windows will be coming in July. They are really good. The sample they brought really looked very good. They have been getting their windows from the same company since 1977. They were good on punctuality.

Statwood has been around for a long time and we have always used them over the years. We called them to set a appointment to visit the shop, met with knowledgeable staff, picked out what we wanted from a decent number of choices (model, color, etc.) They were on time in the work they did on site and were clean and the estimate they gave was right on target. They are very reliable and pleasant and did a terrific job! The only drawback for us has really nothing to do with Statwood; it is the quality of the Pella windows we had installed. They are the type that open inward so they are easy to clean...they ARE easy in this way but are much heavier than we thought and I need help cleaning them. But we love them anyway!
