A friend of a friend recommended me Skyler Property Services for the renovation of an apartment I had just bought. Given the good reviews I had read about their work, I must have been especially unlucky with them. Kastro and Shpetim are both very nice people. They have always been accommodating and patient and tried to be flexible with schedule when needed. However, I had run into a number of problems with them that made my experience frustrating and stressful. I had a whole one bedroom apartment redone, with new kitchen, new bathroom, new floor, new ceiling, paint, etc. First I was very happy with the job they were doing. They gave me a lot of good advice and helped me a lot with orders and deliveries. The construction part of the renovation has been done well - removal of the ceiling and of two walls, doors, electricity, plumbing. However, when it comes to the finishing touches, nothing was done or finished properly. I see the marks of the paint brush on the walls and ceiling, the tiles in my bathroom are not clean, the baseboard is already cracking, they installed a slat of wooden floor that was broken when delivered (they did not take the time to check it before), they did not center the shades on the windows, they never finished my backsplash, and they installed my kitchen countertop upside down among other things. But most importantly, they made two unforgivable mistakes: - I asked them to repair the windows as they were not secured properly to the wall and could fall. Once I had moved in, during a windy day, one the window fell inside the apartment and broke everything on its way. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been underneath. When I told Shpetim, he said that he did not secured the window - even temporarily - because the screw he wanted to use was not the same color than the window and that I was being too picky with these kinds of details so he'd rather not do anything. He did not say anything when I mentioned him that he should have at least warned me about it. - They installed non standard gas pipes in the kitchen. After discussing this with Shpetim, he kindly offered me to change my cooktop for an electric one and to remove the non-standard gas pipes, which I very much appreciated. When time had come to do it, he refused to remove all of the gas pipes because it was too much work and never changed the cooktop. I am certain that Shpetim and Kastro are both is very efficient, unfortunately I cannot say the same of their team who was inexperienced even though very nice. Unfortunately, I do not recommend Skyler Property Services for your renovation
