Absolutely Terrible! I woke up to fumes this am called emergency service at 6:30 am and found that my oil tank cup was cracked during the service and was leaking throughout the night! When I called emergency service they said nothing could be done until someone came into the office. Not sure what the point of an emergency service is! Needless to say it is 8:39 am I am still waiting for someone to come stop my 175 gallons of oil that is leaking on my basement floor.

Amazing! Mike O. diagnosed and repaired our Carrier furnace within a few minutes. It was a simple fix and a reasonable fee. The company we had in first told us it was a complex problem needing a very expensive part that had to be ordered, and quoted us $1,000. I am so pleased with the honesty of this company, and give it my highest recommendation. When it is time for a new furnace, I will be calling Scaran.

Very good. They are excellent. They are prompt. They keep you updated if they are going to be late. The are neat and clean up after themselves. They are polite.

The tech inspected everything and let me know it was fine. He also inspected my hot water heater and let me know that it was time to replace it. I am so grateful! I have had my house flood before because I forgot to replace the hot water heater.

From the minute you call Scaran they are friendly and informative. They walk through the steps, offer options and set the appointment which so far has been very quick. The day of they called with an update that a technician is on the way. Richard Lattanzi was the one to do the work and was very knowledgeable, offered suggestions and educated on operation. He was able to get the job done cleanly, quickly and efficiently. This is the 4th time I've hired Scaran to come out for a service each time something different but all the techs were very knowledgeable and professional. an A+ company to deal with.

It went well. The technician (Richard Lattanzi) explained the work he did. He also tightened the duct work in the utility room so it would not rattle.

A price was given for the repair, but I realized the part may be covered by a warranty on the system.

5 Star install all the way. First we needed to remove old, in-wall a/c units; then rebuild those holes in the wall and missing siding. Walls look great. Then, we needed 5 units, one to go in attic/peak bedroom with cramped wall space. Anthony said, "No problem." (Anthony's can-do attitude is the reason we ended up going with Scaran, along with the price. His solution for getting the attic unit installed was spot on.) Our crew (Carlos and Aaron, Pedro and Nicky, and John) were polite, knowledgeable and skilled. They were careful with our home and 2 cats, kept explaining things along the way, and cleaned up inside and outside. As a bonus, Dennis was able to loosen and remove the stuck-on globe of a ceiling fan. We love our new digital thermostat. Anthony helped us set it up. It is lovely to wake up and the house is already reasonably, reliably warm. No more warring with turning it up and down all day. The heater in the bath/rm is also a lovely improvement. The whole job took barely two days.

Start to finish it went fine , from the estimate process to the final work. Did a couple of extras and did not charge. Found them to be very accommodating with some of our requests.

We highly recommend Scaran !! Last summer we did an extensive search to find the right contractor to provide an air-conditioning solution to our 3-story historic Victorian home in Brooklyn. We knew that a ductless air conditioning system would likely be the best solution but we were concerned that the units would compromise the historic architecture of the house. The two conditions that we wanted the contractor to meet were to 1) find the slimmest blowers possible so that they did not dominate the room in which they were placed, and 2) we did not want to have any unsightly tubing on the exterior of our home. Finding a good referral for our kind of house was not easy. The first contractor who we were referred to, in response to our request that he respect the architectural integrity of the house, told us “My responsibility is to install the most efficient solution possible, not aesthetics”. Well, thanks for playing, but he didn’t get the job. Scaran, on the other hand, was a godsend. Anthony Brandefine was our rep at Scaran and from the moment he entered our house he kept saying “what a beautiful historic home this is”. He showed us a very slim model of blower that practically blends into the wall. But the real magic that Scaran performed was how they installed the units. Many A/C contractors will try to hide the exterior tubing by placing the pipes inside an additional drain gutter that they fix to the wall of the house. Some contractors will thread these pipes through a white or beige colored piping which adds more unwanted lines crossing the fascia of the house. I would have compromised for one of those solutions because I did not think that it could be avoided. Anthony said “ I think we can do better than that”. What his crew did amazed us. They placed all the tubing INSIDE THE WALL. That means that from the outside of the house, there is only one discreet compressor unit that is hidden toward the rear of the house. Even the return lines for condensation run behind the walls to a basement drain. No exterior tubing of any kind. The units work like a charm. Ductless air-conditioning doesn't feel as clammy as a room air conditioner. The air is naturally cool and fresh. The added bonus that Scaran did not emphasize to us was the heat pump feature! Our old house (built in 1904) has always felt drafty on the ground floor despite our massive steam radiator system. Well, with the heat pump in in our AC unit, we were toasty warm all winter. Kudos to Scaran! We have entered them into our hard-won list of contractors who service and beautify our home.

As promised

I received 4 estimates. Scaran's was on the high edge, but when I looked into the actual systems installed and features, it made sense. On the agreed date, they sent 2 professionals, who installed the system better than I could have asked for. They also did few extras I didnt even asked for. I'm impressed. I will use them in the future again.

I think it was too pricey. The quality was a B but I do have some complaints. There were 4 people and they left the area clean. They took the old unit.

They seem reasonably priced. They come when they say they will. They installed the unit so they are familiar with the unit so we stick with them.

My pilot light goes down on the coldest day of this year. Called Lisa from Scaran at 8am. Matt from Scaran arrives at 2. Very professional, friendly and diagnosed the problem in seconds. Alerted me that the $99 service charge would be waived with the completion of the job. Can't be happier. Will always use! Love to support great honest companies here on Staten Island. Don't forget to mention your from Angie's list for the waiving of the service charge only if you get the work done. Total cost was $149...Thanks Scaran!

Very well from the time that Anthony the sales rep came to the house to the clean up at the end of the job. Long day from 8:30 to 5:30. Job included adding a vent in the bathroom, moving a vent in the kitchen, replacing the return register and relocating the location of the thermostat which included a new Lennox thermostat. Cleanup even included taking away some tree limbs that had to be cut. At the latter part of the day the electrical team showed up who where equally as professional in their work. Since it is almost November it will be a few months before we get to see the system really do its thing. All said we are happy that we chose Scaran.
