Additions to comments posted 4/12/12. After just a few months I have had to call in a plumber to fix the work completed by Mr. Aylward of Forge Mill Renovations. After spending thousands on my bathroom redesign, the entire shower has to be taken out and rebuild as the plumbling was done incorrectly. In addition, the new contractor has to break through my kitchen ceiling to complete these repairs. Due to the incompetency of the original contractor who was referred to me by Barbara Fiume, a designer who works with NYKB Kitchens and has her own design company, Turan Vesta (I hired Ms. Fiume through Turna Vesta), the redesign of my apartment will now cost additional thousands of dollars. I thought he did fairly decent work, but what he did was cover up his inability to properly work. Contractor, Jim Aylward of Forge Mill Renovations, provided contract which stated work would be completed in 4 weeks max. He stated if I moved out of my apartment, he could complete work in this timeframe. I moved out. It took him approximately 3-1/2 months to complete. Did a sloppy job of painting which had to be redone. He took $1,800 for window replacement and did not replace windows. To date he has not replaced windows and I will most likely have to go to small claims court to get my money back. He installed a perfectly fine medicine cabinet. Took it down and reinstalled and cracked the mirror. I had to pay for the new door. He charged me $300 for paint and provided me with a receipt for $200. He could not come up with receipt for remaining $100. He told me that he moved my water box for the DEP and all was connected. DEP arrived and told me he cut the wire under my newly installed hardwood floor. DEP was kind enough not to break up my floor. Contractor then charged me $130 for "extras," but did not give me receipt promised for what he bought. He then created a bogus bill on November 23, a few days prior to when the windows were to be installed, claiming that I had to pay $1,350 for extras for an upscale bathroom. My designer said this was a fabricated bill. His attitude during the project was beligerent and unprofessional. He cursed at me, yelled and screamed and there were many days he just did not show up. While the work he did perform, was done well, the "agony" he put me through was awful.
