Bad... No Customer satisfaction. He will not resolve the matter. He is not a people person. You are on your own. I made my complaint to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
I decided to get the window replaced with another company.
Mr. Siegel response DOES NOT HOLD WATER. He basically shunned all responsibility to homeowner and refuses to honor his work.
Well I found the leak. IT WAS SEVERAL SLATES OF VERTICAL SIDING NO CLOSING PROPERLY. I MANAGED TO NAIL THEM SHUT, BUT NO TOO TIGHT TO PREVENT EXPANSION. I ALSO SEALED AND CAPPED THE J CHANNEL. THE HOSE TEST SHOWED THAT THE WATER NO LONGER CAME IN. HOWEVER, I HAD TWO REPLACEMENT WINDOWS PUT IN. WHEN THE COMPANY I HIRED PULLED OUT OLD WINDOWS THERE WAS EXCESSIVE NUMBER OF HOLES IN THE TOP OF THEM. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN DONE DURING THE TIME OF INSTALLATION AND PRIOR TO MY PURCHASING OF HOME. I GUESS THE INSTALLER GOT TIRED OF COMING BACK TO RESOLVE WATER LEAK ISSUE SO THEY DRILLED HOLES ON TOP OF WINDOW TO RELIEVE WATER PRESSURE. NO WONDER THE COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO COME BACK TO RESOLVE WATER ISSUE. WHY? THERE WAS NO MONEY TO BE MADE ON REPAIRS ( MR> SIEGEL's TEXT DID STATE HE FELT SORRY, BUT HE CANT LOOSE. MEANING HE CANT LOOSE MONEY ON THE JOB.). Also the WINDOWS WERE DAMAGED, not one BUT TWO.
I tried to resolve this with him at Better Business Bureau. Mr. Siegel basically stated to call another contractor to resolve problem.
POOR OVERALL IN ALL PERFORMANCE.
"Home owner wanted me to replace a window that is not defective... Even though he was more than willing to pay me to replace it, I will not take money from a customer to do work on a job that I don't agree with just for the sake of doing the work.... The customer was adamant about replacing the window, so I suggested he get someone else to do it..."
"While some of what the customer posted is true, other information is inaccuarate and misleading. We always offer to do roofing services when the customer is not home so they dont have to be inconvienced by taking a day off or missing important appointments and meetings. If they so desire to be home during install- of course they are more than welcome. The manufaturer sent the correctly ordered color shingle for the roof and capping; however their appeared to be a slight gradiant difference in the coloring that was not visible until it was installed. So to make the customer happy i removed all the newly installed HIP & RIDGE CAPPING at my expense and installed all new just to keep a customer happy. Next- the customer had old gutters that were worn and in need of replacement, however they chose to leave them on for this project and while it is debateable as to whether or not my ladder leaning against gutter caused any bending to the gutter i once again did what ever it took to make the customer happy and replaced the gutter at my sole expense with a new one to please the customer. Lastly to blame me because the roof sheathing is not completely level on the 2 sides of the ridge is rediculous as i did not construct or replace the sheathing- i merely ripped off and replaced the Asphalt roof shingle. So once again i tried to do everything (as always) to make the customer happy and as the customer stated in their review- "the repairs were done to their satisfaction"... In the end the customer was sour because they wanted a price rebate and felt money should be deducted from thier invoice amount on top of me doing everything i mentioned earlier... This is one of those examples of no matter how hard you try- some customers just cant be pleased.... THE SIGN OF A GOOD CONTRACTOR IS NOT JUST ONE WHO DOES GOOD WORK, BUT ONE WHO IS RECEPTIVE TO CHANGES and PROBLEMS AND ADDRESSE'S THEM IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT QUESTION... and thats what we did and will continue to do for all our customers !!! CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING TO US !!!"
