The owner?s son (It is a family business) came to our home to review what we had in mind. We had a small kitchen, and really wanted more
counter space (we only had 24" x 24" worth of counter space). He (Alan) showed us samples of cabinets they had done using an iPad to view the
pictures, and he also had door and wood samples for us to look at. We outlined everything we wanted to do, and he promised to comeback with at least two possible design layouts for our kitchen. Needless to say when he came back with two possible designs we could not believe how great they looked!!! He came with two 3D layouts both on paper and on his iPad. We of course looked at other places including Ikea for a new kitchen. Everyone told us for real wood custom make cabinets we would be paying at least 15k for just the cabinets, even the guy at
Ikea said this. Needless to say we were worried that the price was too good. Since he promised to include the sink (less the faucet), the granite counter top (yes real granite) and all the electrical and plumbing for his price of 15k. He also promised to install all our appliances (We bought new at Home Depot the cost of the appliances is not included in this price). We then asked for the timeline, since we have kids going without a kitchen for a long time would be a disaster. He promised to be done in 3 weeks from start to finish. Even though they would not be working during the Jewish holidays (six days), so now we were really skeptical. We spoke to the guy who recommended them to us (Commercial plumber I know through my job), and he swore this company was great. So all that said they showed up Sunday morning September 21, 2014 and were done by
October 8, 2014. If you want to see what it looks like our kitchen is on their website. Ours is the first one under galley-kitchens-cherry cabinets. We paid them half at the start of the project and then half the balance when the cabinets came in, then paid off the rest at the end of the project.
We never, never recommend contractors!! The reason for this is that I work as a facilities manager and seem to run into a lot of bad contracts. Unfortunately it always seems the good ones go out of business, because the bad ones take most of the jobs. That said I am recommending
Cabinets by Marciano and state they are the best contractors I have ever dealt with period.
