 + 1 moreAfter the first day of work, the crew and ARC Renovations never returned. On that day, Rivakovski told me that extra work, exceeding his initial estimate would be needed for an additional $1200.00. He was given an additional check to meet the requirements that day. He promised work would resume on the rebuilding the following week. On Saturday of the next week, there was no crew, no call. I contacted Rivakovski by phone, and he said that he had a death in the family. I accepted the explanation, and he said his crew would come back the next weekend. The next weekend was Easter weekend. He never called and the crew never arrived. I tried calling him after Easter, but could not reach him. I left numerous messages that never were returned. I called from a different phone and he picked up. He said he and his crew would definitely be at my house the next weekend. I asked him to confirm during the week. No call, no crew. I tricked him into answering again. Again, next weekend nothing. AWOL.
Description of Work: Demolition and remodeling of existing small bathroom. The owner of ARC Renovations, Avi Ribakovski, first appeared to be professional and knowledgeable about renovations. He did a personal inspection of the bathroom, made recommendations based on his previous experience, and estimated the work, which consisted of demolishing the bathroom, reconstructing with new mold resistant green drywall, re-shoring old timber, tiling and replacing of all fixtures. He estimated the work would take 6 working days, with a crew of three, including himself. Ribakovski was given 1/3 payment in advance. He and his crew arrived on the first day, and demolished the bathroom, leaving a gaping wound in the home. He and the crew left all the demolished trash lying next to my house on the lawn in bags, telling me he would have the crew clean it up. They never returned.
