I chose to go with ACJ-Joseph Ashley after reading the positive reviews on Angie's list and my initial consultation with Joe. I originally contacted Joe for a free estimate to inspect the condition of my roof. During my home consultation, Joe told me that my roof was in good shape and had a few years left before it needed be be replaced. He pointed out to me that my real concern was the cedar shakes and the shingles on my house, which were in very bad shape and needed immediate attention. I therefore decided to have vinyl siding put on my whole house. Joe assured me that my home would look beautiful. Joe replaced my bathroom window which was broken for no additional cost. He also conducted some pointing on the top of my chimney for no additional cost. I also had some PVC railings on top of my deck which were loose and had broke apart from the braces, which he also repaired at no additional cost. His crew even took out the old window air conditioner which was sealed, caulked into the window and not working at all for no additional cost. His team was very professional, courteous and did meticulous work. The crew arrived on time every day and completed the work within the 4 day timeframe, Joe told me it would take to complete. They take pride in their workmanship and it shows. I have a house which looks beautiful and brand new. They did an OUTSTANDING job! I would highly recommend them. I am definitely going to use them in the future, since I have other work that needs to be done. Thank you Joe and CREW!

I cannot say enough good thing about Joseph Ashley and his team. He is a complete professional with a very pleasant demeanor.

I explained to him that I needed the tar paper secured to my roof before the winter sets in. He asked me if there were any leaks on the roof I said no he said well why are you calling me we only do remodeling. I didn't have time explain other issues that I wanted him to look at (Gutter replacement). I am still shakey from the conversation. I have never come across a business that I am willing to pay treat me in that manor and also hang up on me.

Excellent job from start to completion. I interviewed and received estimates from several roofers, from both Angie's List and "word of mouth". Joe Santillo was professional, informative about the products used, and competitive products. His crew was hardworking, and "got the job done and did it right." When you are like me, nervous about workers, and experiencing and hearing "horror" stories about contractors, you will have only a great sigh of relief as you look at your beautiful new roof! Definite five star rating!

Everything went very well and the entire project was completed on time. I took several months to choose a roofing contractor for this project because it was going to be a large investment, and it needed to be done perfectly. We definitely chose the right partner. Joe and his entire team delivered on their promises. We had a pretty challenging roof project because the previous homeowners had avoided doing anything correctly for decades. Lots of band-aids on top of band-aids, and a considerable amount of water damage from previous water leaks that we uncovered along the way. Even though we had a thorough inspection before buying the home, there was no way to see the full extent of the previous water damage until the area was exposed. Fortunately Joe's team is experienced in a variety of areas so they could tackle new issues as they came up. We would definitely work with ACJ again and would recommend them to anyone. I should also note everyone on staff was extremely friendly, courteous and professional. It's nice when you can see people are treated well and genuinely enjoy what they're doing. They sent me pictures along the way and were always happy to stop and explain what was going on, progress for the day, etc. Having a big project going on at your house can feel chaotic with building materials everywhere, etc., but they made it a breeze. I also know they will stand behind their work if there is ever an issue down the road.

It went quite well. There were a few hiccups in the midst of the job. However the team handled it with ease and gave our family peace of mind. The team was very polite and worked in a timely fashion. Clearly they are a reflection of their leader, Mr. Joseph Ashley.

Josep was very good, i call him and he gave an appointment right away got to the house prontly on time. Very informative and quick to answer my questions.he knew exacly what need it to be done. He explain everything to detail. Everything was exacly the way he said it, his guys were on time at 8 am like he said, very organize to work and clean. I also need one window to be replace in my kitchen told him last minute and he was able to get it done for me.

Joe Ashley and his guys did an excellent job. He assured from the "get go" that I would be happy with the job and he was right. Through the whole process Joe was very easy to work with and made sure I was happy at every step. Of particular note were the guys onsite actually installing the roof. They worked hard and left my yard clean at the end of each day. Even after the job was done and I wasn't happy with how the stain looked on the fascia he didn't hesitate when I asked him to redo it all with a new color. His price was fair for the large job it was and the quality of the workmanship evident. I may have the siding done next year and if so will certainly have him back to do it.

He did return my call Friday, said he was going to Brooklyn and would call me around 2 to let me know what time he could come by....it's Monday, I never heard from him again.

We decided that the roof on our 100-year-old home needed to be replaced as it was the original wood shake with slate laid on top in the 1930s or 1940s. We selected the material we wanted based on a roof a neighbor had installed a couple of years back. We also had an estimate from the contractor that had installed that roof. While we would have been very comfortable with that contractor, we wanted to be prudent and get other estimates. We found Joe on Angie’s list based on his reviews. From the start, Joe came in with a better price using the same materials, but also provided more services, such as installing gutters, windows, replacing and painting facia boards and installing columns to support a large over hanging roof. Joe made us comfortable with his knowledge and ability on the first meeting and he and his team backed up all promises and statements he made. The team worked hard and were very organized and cleaned the site every day. They answered questions and went out of their way to make us comfortable with the process. It was an extensive job but Joe and his team made it an easy experience. Joe and/or his son were onsite everyday and they made everything work as it should. They even developed a strong relationship with a neighbor who is very protective of his property and addressed his concerns, which was a big load off of our minds as well. In the end, the project was finished in the timeframe Joe gave us and the work and craftsmanship was excellent. A month later I still get excited pulling up to the house and seeing the differences. There has been no reason to contact Joe for adjustments to the gutters or any of the other work, but I’m sure he would make sure we were satisfied no matter because that is the type of businessman he is. We are happy to recommend him to others and give him a solid “A” rating across the board.

Mr. Joseph Ashley has done it again. An awesome job that is. I had no doubts about his work since I've used his services 4 years ago for a roofing job and boiler room sheet rocking. When it came time to have my bathrooms (1 full bath and a powder room) remodeled I didn't hesitate to go straight to ACJ Remodeling. Just like before Joe assured us that the work would be done quickly and properly. That we didn't have anything to worry about and he was once again true to his word. The bathrooms were completely gutted and rebuilt will all new everything. He has a great group of guys working for him. They were very professional, efficient, and clean. We actually had to travel out of town during some of the time and to avoid stopping the work from getting done, we left keys to our home so that the work could continue. I had no qualms about doing this because I did it before 4 years ago and trusted that my home was in good hands. My family and I are enjoying our lovely new bathrooms. Soon we will be remodeling our kitchen and again I will not hesitate calling ACJ Remodeling for the job. Thanks Joe for a job well done!!

We hired Joe and his team again (the first time was to replace our roof) to install 14 replacement windows, new 16 foot vinyl siding, skim-coat the foundation and replace the outside frame around the back sliding door. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH JOE! He and his crew are simply amazing. They were always on time, very polite, so hardworking and went out of their way to make us happy. Nothing was too small of a detail to make it exactly the way we wanted. They even came up with a way to support the heavy backyard lights that I had ordered (which was not easy but they did it and it turned out beautiful). Even the vents on the side of the house are straight and match perfectly. They also put all cable and phone wires under the siding for a seamless look. When we were unsure of what color siding to pick, Joe said to text him the colors we were considering. Within a few days he was dropping off samples to us. We were also unsure of what color to coat the foundation (we didn’t want typical gray). Again, Joe gave me a color chart and gave us his advice as to which colors would look best. He is an expert at what he does, so knowledgeable and a genuine nice guy who cares deeply about your happiness. He is very accessible and always returns your text message or call promptly. He stopped by every day to check on the progress and make sure that we were happy. Any fine tuning was done without hesitation. It’s all about making the client happy. One of the workers also went up on the roof for a routine check and cleaned out the gutters. We are more than pleased with the outcome and will be hiring him again in a few years to continue working on our house (new front steps and a paver driveway is next). Thank you Joe and the entire crew – our house turned out just the way we wanted. Many of our neighbors are truly impressed and asked for a business card. So get ready, you may be back on our block before you know it! LOL

I hired Joseph Ashley and ACJ to complete a fairly extensive exterior home project after many months of research and interviews of several companies. Joe and his crew did an excellent job on the exterior of my home through the replacement of the siding, roof, gutters, fascia and soffits, doors, painting of stucco, porch columns, wrought iron fence and complete refurbishing of the upper deck. I contacted Joseph Ashley based on the Angie's List Ratings, as well as, a review of the projects on the company website. Joe responded and set up an initial meeting very timely. Upon meeting Joe it was immediately apparent that his enthusiasm is a result of his commitment to his work and his company. He is an extremely knowledgeable, passionate professional who clearly enjoys his work! He listened to my needs, discussed various options, and provided samples to help me decide on the final selections. Joe gave me a preliminary estimate along with the addresses of homes his company was working on or completed, to see his work. He followed up with additional addresses a few days later and offered some additional advice. Once my decision to hire Joe was made, he explained everything in great detail and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. The crew was very well supervised, skilled and very professional.They arrived on time every day, worked well together and were polite and courteous. I was particularly impressed by their attention to the safety of the community and my neighbors. The crew supervisors were approachable and kept me informed of the daily job progress. The job site was kept clean and orderly, at the end of each day, and they did a good job of cleaning up at the completion of the job. Joe checked in every day to make sure things were going well and immediately addressed any of my questions, concerns or requests. The refurbishing of the upstairs deck presented some challenges. Joe worked with me to decide the best course of action and enlisted his capable crew to resolve any glitches, providing a satisfactory result. Joe assured me that he is committed to return when the weather warms up to reassess the deck completion and address anything that may need correcting. Joe and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They completed a quality job which met all of my expectations. I have received many compliments on the final project! The house looks great! I highly recommend Joe and ACJ for your remolding needs.

Eight years ago we hired Joe Ashley ACJ Remodeling Inc. to install windows and to side our house. Joe and his team did a great job. So when we had a fire at that same location we called Joe who responded immediately and proceeded with an entire house renovation. From the start Joe was supportive & he coordinated a plan to repair our entire house. His team are experts in sheet rocking , taping & painting. They did an excellent job and left the job site neat and organized each day. Joe's tiling expert completed both bathrooms. The results were beyond our expectations. Throughout this whole house renovation Joe was very flexible with any changes that we requested. His workers showed up on time & phone calls were returned promptly. The job was done just the way we wanted. We thank Joe and his team for their excellent work.

Joseph Ashley and his team completed the work in 3 days, where others said it would be a 7 day project. The quality of the work is outstanding and they fully removed debri after the project. I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I needed to get the roof inspected to see if we need it replaced or repaired. I filled out the online form to get an idea of an estimate. I was contacted by ACJ via my cell when I got home and basically was given a very long sale pitch. He asked me several questions and tried to seem informative, but all I needed at the moment was to get an estimate as I had a list of options to choose from. As he was explaining who he hires to work with him, he states that he "does not hire any Mexicans" and only hires people who are professionals in the field. At that moment, I knew I was not going to hire a racist. I should have hung up the phone from that point but he said he would inspect the roof without me being there. I said fine and we hung up. He called me that weekend asking how my other prospects went. When I asked him what kind of estimate I would expect, he simply said he would have to meet us in person. At this point, I told him I would call him back if my husband was interested. We did not call him back. I do not believe that he actually inspected our roof, because when I asked, he said we have three layers of shingles and we actually only have two on the roof itself and three on the side. Today he called again and asked how things went and I told him who my husband chose. He said that the people we chose do not offer the same warranty as him, I said they do, he said they are not certified, I said I will verify that. He asked how much I financed with them for, I told him and he says he could have offered the same amount. He then said that we made a huge mistake and we should not have gone with them and he hangs up on me. It sounded very much like a threat and I am very upset at the unprofessionalism that I encountered when I was respectful of him even though he was clearly very rude. I have now blocked the number. I do not want to receive any further phone calls from this company.

I was extremely happy with the work he did. Unfortunately, I wasn't home when the work was being done on the first day but I came home to a beautiful house and absolutely no mess. I am extremely happy with the job and will use him again in the future for any other projects I may have. I would highly recommend him.

Everything went well. Joe is a complete professional who demonstrates a vast knowledge of the industry and takes pride in how the work is done and how the finished product will appear. His customer service skills are top notch. His dedication to my individual concerns and requests were apparent and he accommodated me completely. I must single out and praise his workers. They are skilled, and hard working. They work well together and were polite and courteous to me and my neighbors. Several of my neighbors informed me of how impressed they were with them. Joe and his workers get all the details right: both the big items and the little items. The roof and the soffits came out great. The new chimney with the copper flashing, copper apron and copper cricket looks awesome. The manner in which they trimmed out the siding around the windows and doors along with capping was impressive. I have never seen it done this way. All the caulking was done neatly. Not slopped on and uneven. When replacing the widows they took great care inside the house not to make a mess ( which they didn't ) and cleaned up to my satisfaction. I had requests for the placement for the leaders and the gutters and the instillation of them came out better than I expected. The area around my house was cleaned up each night. The material was kept stored in an orderly fashion I am completely happy with how my house turned out. I would highly recommend Joe and his company to anyone. I feel he gave me value and craftsmanship at a reasonable price.

Joe Ashley performed a site survey, taking the time necessary, inspecting all affected areas. He explained everything in great detail, presented a sample of the product he would use and made sure everything was addressed and clearly understood. Within a week, Joe communicated the anticipated start date and length of time he expected the job to take, barring any major weather issues, which there were none. When the job started, and each day that followed, the crew arrived on time, prepared and protected the area and began to work. The layers were promptly removed and areas that had to be resurfaced with plywood were addressed. A couple of problem areas showing improper sealing and water damage were found. They were fully inspected before anything moved forward. However, the crew continued to work on other areas until resolution was communicated completely and promptly, so no time was lost. The job was completed within 3 days. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently everything was handled. At the end of each day the entire property was left clean and orderly. The crew was extremely professional, pleasant and worked constantly. Joe would come by several times a day to check on the job site and answer any questions. On day 4, the job was reviewed and all of the minor punch list items were addressed within that same day. I cannot express enough thanks to Joe for the comfort level we experienced with everything that occurred from beginning to end. The house looks amazing! I would highly recommend ACJ Remodeling to everyone!
