Very well. Better than very well. We first used Joseph Ashley about five years ago, to put siding on our house. The work was well and handsomely done and so we hired the firm again when we needed siding and windows for a house we bought, and when windows needed to be replaced on a rental property. In all cases the work was very well done, the crew were careful and cleaned up well, and you could trust Joe to get the project done. If I had another house to rehab I would hire him again.

Joseph and his team did a great job. They were punctual, courteous and paid attention to the details. Joseph stopped by or checked in daily to make the job was going well and answered any questions I had. Overall, a great experience.

We hired Joseph Ashley to replace the roof and gutters on our old house (built in 1899) in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. Je took the time to answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns prior to starting the project. He was very knowledgable, communicative, and understanding. Once the project began, his crew was on site 8am to 4:30 every day until the roof was replaced. His crew was hard-working, punctual, respectful, and thorough. The entire process took less than 2 weeks (despite running into some unexpected rotten wood). We are happy with the work done, and would use Joe again in the future.

Excellent. From contract to finishing of work, I never had any conflict. The supervisor was on the site every day checking the work. The workers were disciplined and did a good job with cleanup. I would highly recommend this contractor to my friends.

I would give Joe and his crew an A+ if I could. From the appointment for the estimate to the completion of the job, Joe and his crew were professional, responsive and reasonable - an all around pleasure to deal with. I researched ahead and Joe surpassed my high expectations. Joe sent 9 guys who completed the roof including removal in 1 day - about 11 hours. Eric his foreman was very easy to deal with and supervised the job thoroughly. He was very mindful of our neighbor’s house and driveway where he had to use machinery - working in tight quarters. The men on the crew were hard working and courteous. We couldn’t be happier with the way the roof turned out. They did a very good job cleaning up. Joe’s price and warranty were great. He included all new leaders and gutters which made it great value. The gutter guys came the next day and completed a great job in about 5 hours. Joe, his son Joe, Eric and the workmen really were a pleasure to deal with - I would highly recommend ACJ!!

I started getting estimates last Fall for the complete renovation of my roof. Joe was one of 6 contractors I found for the project here on Angie's List.. He returned my call promptly and an appointment was made. He showed up on time.. He explained to me how he operated and what products he could offer for the project and then gave me an estimate. He offered references for his work which I did follow up on. Out of all 6 estimates, he was dab smack in the middle. Using Angie's List reviews and his references and a review of his work I decided to hire him. We sat down went over the contract. Every detail of the work was included at which time I gave him a 33% deposit on the work - which is standard. I couldn't be more happy with that decision. His workers were clean and efficient. Every one of them was always in motion, including one worker who did nothing but police the area and clean up everything. In the end, the roof and gutters were beautifully done. Joe was highly visible as the work proceeded and was genuinely concerned with my level of happiness with the work and workers - of whom he is very proud, btw, which was very nice to see. When the work was half way completed, I gave him another 33% - standard. And it was not until the work was completely finished did he request final payment. Joe is a rare commodity in our community...he treats you as a homeowner not as a *job*. I would hire again without question.

I selected ACJ Remodeling and the results were an OUTSTANDING JOB. Reasonable Price, kept advising of progress,, Made a friend in Ashley, received compliment s from neighbors.

When I first met JA, my first thought was "Is this guy kidding me! Telling me I need a new roof when I just called for a leaky skylight?!?" However, once I spoke to a few other contractors, I quickly realized...he was right! The other people wanted to put band-aids on what I realized was a bigger issue, so I hired him to do the job (he also did a neighbor's job and came highly recommended). JA and his team were attentive, professional, clean and fair in pricing. The work was done really well and without cutting corners. You get what you pay for and he knows what he is doing! Months later when I gut renovated my house, we found a exposed seam and when I called him he sent his guys the SAME DAY and fixed it. AMAZING! When we decided to paint the house, he took the time to go over the paint colors and sent his guys later to do the minor touch ups that needed to be done. My house looks great! I cannot recommend him enough. He knows what he is talking about, is fair in his pricing and does top quality work. IF he is booked (which will probably be the case)....WAIT FOR HIM! He is worth it...and let's face it...you don't want to do your roof 2x!

I hired ACJ remodeling after a raccoon ate a hole in my 30 year old roof and I realized it was time for a new one. My daughter found Joe Santillo on Angie’s list and he met with my next door neighbor and me ( I live in a semi-detached home so we both needed to hire the same contractor), gave us a detailed quote of the work to be done using Owens Corning shingles, answered all our questions and supplied us with the necessary insurance certificate and Workman’s Comp forms. My daughter checked to make sure they were legitimate. The work started a few days later once it stopped raining. His workers we extremely professional and polite. They showed up on time, worked like a well oiled machine and cleaned up every bit of debris when their day was over. Joe came by everyday to make sure things were running smoothly. He is an Owens Corning platinum preferred contractor. He is listed on their website. I had no idea this was important or was even a thing, but you want a contractor who has taken the time to attend seminars etc. about the products they use. Joe Santillo is true professional in a field rife with disreputable contractors. I would not hesitate to hire ACJ Remodeling again and recommend him.

A++ Rating for Joseph Ashley. I spoke to him on a Thursday afternoon, by Saturday morning he and his crew were ready to replace my roof and gutters. This is a very professional company, the crew is extremely courteous and punctual. I highly recommend Joseph Ashley and would hire him again for additional work.

It went well, his team was able to do a great job and and was able to accommodate our requests. He will also tell you about other problems he finds as they work on the roof. Also they were very fast in answering all the questions I had about how and what they were going to do. They cleaned up pretty much everything they said they will and overall I'm very happy with ACJ Remodeling, in the future if I wouldn't mind having them come do another project.

ACJ is an outstanding firm. We wanted to replace the 40+ year old aluminum siding and trim on the windows and uncover and restore the original 120 year wood cornice. We decided to use Certainteed Cedar Impressions siding and Fypon polyurethane moldings (which do not rot or peel when painted) to replicate the original look of the house. The owner, Joseph Ashly is knowledgable and listened to and addressed all of our concerns regarding design and quality. I am an architect and had very specified ideas about what I wanted my house to look like after the job. Joseph came to see us several times and discussed details patiently. His price was very fair. I received several bids for the project so I am sure of that. And one small additional item came up during the job and I was impressed by how it was handled. Finding good contractor's can be difficult but this company is really first class. The owners monitored the work and spoke to us during progress. When they started the job, they had there crew continuously working until the end (about 8 work days) and called when the weather made work impossible (2 days). The crew were extremely respectful of neighbors and our house. They answered any questions that we had. No loud music or loud voices. After the job was completed, there was a small molding that needed additional screws and the contractor, Joseph Ashley, had a truck with two men at my house in less than 24 hours (perfect service). My wife and I highly recommend ACJ. and we already have recommended the company to neighbors and friends.
