ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley

Joseph Ashley was one of the best contractors I have ever done business with. I found ACJ on Angie?s List and read several reviews on Google, all very positive reports of his previous work. My house is a 2 family with a lot of exterior square footage, over 4000 square feet. I ended up getting 6 separate quotes from contactors to do the work. Joe showed up to do an estimate and was able to point out several deficiencies with the current siding that he was willing to fix free of charge if he got the job. Some quotes were literally double the price that Joe quoted and while I did receive 2 quotes lower than Joe, I felt confident that he would do the best job for the price he was quoting. In my line of work I deal with a lot of NYC contractors and I know from experience it is not always a good idea to go with the lowest bid. Joe started working on my house the week before Christmas so all my material was sitting in the driveway when that 20? snow storm hit right after the holiday. I was nervous that this would cause problems with the job and could possibly cost me more money. I showed up on that Friday, New Years Eve, to shovel out my driveway and sidewalk and to my surprise found 8 guys installing siding on my house. The driveway was shoveled and the paths cleared. It was insane. The crew that installs the siding is very professional and trustworthy. I gave them a key to my house without any concern. In addition to installing the siding on my house, they moved the location of 3 windows, capped all trim work around windows, doors and porches with aluminum, and installed 6 louver vents in a cement block porch and frame porch. Joe also installed new litters, gutters, and fascia boards for free because he said he ?couldn?t look at all the new siding and not replace the litter and gutters.? Joe truly does care about his work. My house now looks fantastic and I couldn?t be happier with the work performed. I already have Joe giving me quotes for some summer projects I have in the works and I don?t plan on getting any other quotes from any other contractors. I would highly recommend Joseph Ashley to anyone looking to do remodeling projects.

Joseph Ashley responded in a timely manner to our initial request for an estimate. He began the work when he said that he would. The work was completed in 3 days. There were often as many as 10 men working on the roof at the same time. All of the workers behaved in a professional manner. They were here at the scheduled time each morning and worked through the day stopping only for a lunch break. At the end of each day when the workers left it was so clean outside of my house you couldn't tell that they had been here. Wow, I was impressed. We dealt directly with Joseph Ashley. He was always available when we had questions or concerns. The finished product is beautiful, a quality job. I would hire ACJ Remodeling Inc. again.

The job started & completed on time. The crew arrived promptly at 8am and worked until just after dark The crew cleaned-up after themselves each day & completely at the end of the job. The job we contracted for was exactly what we received, but I must say that this company out-performed my expectations with their attention to detail. The crew was experienced and did good work; they responded to questions and requests pleasantly and favorably.

Joe gave me an estimate and let me know when he thought they could start the work. They began the work on time and stayed on budget. He manages the number of people he has working very closely, so the work can get done quickly and everyone is busy. It went well. We were all frustrated by the heavy rain that interrupted the stucco work. The end result is quite lovely. How nice to look out my back window at a lovely garage instead of the tin can we had there before. The materials they used were top notch and the end result is impressive. The stucco work included a brick veneer border, and they topped it off with crown molding. I also like that Joe stays involved in the process. It is reassuring that he seems so interested in how happy you are with the results.

I found this company on angie's list. Joe came a few hours after my phone call to give an estimate, which was very reasonable. Once the parts were ordered and received the crew came to install. The job was very professional and neat. Very happy with final result. Would recommend to others!!!!!! Ty.

After the storms we had in March, we realized we needed a new roof. Now being that we are first-time homeowners and never hired a contractor before, we were determined to find the best. We started by searching Angies List and came across ACJ Remodeling (Joseph Ashley). We liked what we saw on his website and decided to investigate further on the internet. No matter where we looked, we could not find a bad review or negative comment about him or his company. Next, we checked with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. Again, nothing but high regard for the company, the owner and the workers. So we contacted Joe and set up an appointment with him. He showed up on time (always a plus), was courtesy, listened to what we wanted, gave us a really great price and told us "not to worry." We could not be happier with the finished product. His crew worked hard, were friendly and cleaned up everything each day before going home. They even worried about a small "tar thumb print" that was still on the front of the house and wanted to clean it before leaving. I told them not to worry about cleaning it until they came back the next day. Joe is not only a great contractor and a pleasure to work with -- he is knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He will be the ONLY contractor we use for any future home improvement needs and cannot say enough good things about him or his company.

I came to know of them through Angie?s List. He showed up when he said he would with four to five workers. They cleaned everything up after the job was done. They had actually dropped some debris in my neighbor?s property which they later cleaned up. They were very professional. The owner had called up after the job was done to make sure that there weren?t any problems. They were competitively priced too. We were very pleased with them.

I originally called ACJ on a recommendation from a friend, but I actually did go see several jobs they had completed in my Brooklyn neighborhood and two homes in Staten Island. Without question this was the best contractor I have ever worked with. The owner, Joe, was here every day and communicated with me constantly. I didn't have to look for him or hope that his crew was going to show. Eight workers were here every day until the job was complete. ACJ worked one job at a time - we can all appreciate how important it is to get this work done in a timely way. They cleaned up every day and during those days when weather prohibited working, I got an 8:00 a.m call from Joe telling me about the work schedule and asking if anything needed to be secured. On some exceptional windy days when working was impossible, Joe sent a few of his crew to check the scaffolds and the construction materials without being prompted. I'm an experienced DIY'er who appreciates good work. ACJ completed the "details" that made this job stand out (mitered windows, etc.). Lastly, his crew was great and they laughed all th time so something is right here. My neighbors even commented on their obvious working relationships. My house turned out better than expected. All in all, a great experience!
