Last Fall I asked my plumber-handyman to recommend someone to add tiles to my bathroom walls and floor, replacing the existing formica-like wallboard on walls and ceiling and cardboard flooring, and he gave me Anthony Gallo's number of Future Tile. When I called Anthony, I told him there was no rush and to get back to me after the Holidays. In late January this year, he stopped by to measure and estimate the job. He later called with an estimate of $5,800 which included removal and hauling-away of all existing wallboard to the studs and flooring; plumbing services (removal and re-placing of the toilet and sink); installation of ceramic tiles on the walls surrounding the tub and on the floor. He also installed waterproof sheetrock to the tub area and floor boards, put in two new recessed ceiling lights and shower stem and faucet in the tub, and primed and painted the non-tiled areas.
The estimate, however, did not include the tiles which came to an additional $400.
We set up a payment and time schedule. They re-placed the glass shower doors and cleaned up beautifully. The work took about 10 days and was finished by February 27. There were several minor issues which he cleared up over the next two months. It was a big job, and I've recently asked Anthony for an estimate to tear out the flooring on my second bathroom and replace it. Again, there's no rush on this job.
