STERLING TREE & LAWN

Representative Tom came in April to inspect lawn.  He told me that they would seed & fertilizer once contract was signed & paid for.
I had a damaged lawn with a lot of bare spots (dirt).  It was explained to Tom that we have an event in August and we needed the lawn to look good.  Tom informed me that seeding would occur after the 1st fertilizer application was applied.  When I received notice that the 2nd application was about to be applied I contacted Sterling Tree to find out about the seeding.  After 3 calls Tom finally
got back to me.  He told me that the aeration machine had been put away for the season & they would seed in the
Fall.  I told him that was not what we agreed to.  Tom then backpedaled & said he does not see the contracts after they are signed & he did not know we requested the seeding option. Either the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing or it was my responsibility to coordinate the company's schedule & order the seed.  Tom told me that he would "make it right".  After getting another notice that the 3rd application was being applied I called office to speak to owner, Sterling, about the situation. Sterling didn't have the decency to call me back.
I cancelled service with Sterling Tree and they prorated back my $900 to include the 2 fertilize applications.  In effect they were fertilizing dirt because they never seeded lawn as per paid contract.
Horrible, horrible experience.  DO NOT USE "STERLING TREE & LAWN SERVICE".

Moved on to more professional company.

Our house suffered flooding from Hurricane Sandy. While we were not severely impacted, and things were back to normal in a month or so, as spring approached we were concerned about salt damage to our lawn, trees and shrubs. Sterling's ad showed pictures that looked like our yard. We checked their credentials, saw they were on Angie's List, and called for an inspection.  A nice young girl took my call, seemed to be taking notes, took down two numbers for me and assured me I'd get a callback.  This was on a Thursday. I hadn't been called by Tuesday morning, so I called another place. Wonder why they spent so much on advertising? Yardwork is somewhat time-sensitive. If they're too busy, they should say so, so that potential customers can go elsewhere.

Absolute professionals from beginning to end. We would gladly rehire them.

They are always very professional and we have developed a good rapport with them. I have no problems with the workmen who come. They are here when they say they will be.

I was satisfied with these guys. They did a good job. They got rid of the roots and worked well together to accomplish the end result. The price was the price. I think its what other companies like them are asking these days. I was glad that for the money I gave them, they did the roots too. Not all companies would have done that. I know because I have since talked to other companies. I am a good shopper and ask questions and do my research so I know.

STERLING DOES A GREAT JOB. I THINK THAT THEY ARE VERY HONEST, RESPONSIBLE AND RELIABLE. THEY DO WHAT THEY CLAIM TO DO AND RESPOND RIGHT AWAY WHEN CALLED. I HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS AND AM HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICES.

I WAS SATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY AND THE SERVICES THAT WAS PROVIDED. THE WORKERS ALWAYS COME OUT ON THEIR SCHEDULED DATE. THEY CLEAN UP THEIR CLUTTER BEHIND THEMSELVES. THE GRASS LOOKS GREAT AND SMELLS FRESH. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

THIS COMPANY IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY SENT OUT REMINDER CARDS FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS AND WERE ON TIME FOR THEM. I THINK THE TREES WILL LIVE A LONG TIME THANKS TO THEM.
