Rather than opening the circuit breaker in the basement, he shorted the circuit. I discovered a burned out recepticle in the basement a few days later. He left an invoice for another customer that appeared to be for the same service performed for us. He wanted us to return the invoice which we did, but he would not answer a question about the cost of the fan, and when we received our invoice, there was no description of the work. I have not called him since. The fan lasted only about half the time of the original fan.
