My Original 07/06 Review is as follows:
Four months of this ordeal that cost us $3,600, just to be left with carpeting that is falling apart. They kept messing up and would each time promise they would not stop till they got things right. The last thing resulted in a seam days later starting to fall apart. They said they video-taped in our home (without our knowledge) and are claiming the video is proof of a job well done. It takes days of vacuuming to reveal a bad seam, when fibers start coming out. They refused to fix this seam.
Details: First the salesman sold us one carpeting and ordered a cheaper one. The manager then ordered the correct carpeting. Then the padding was not right, and it was replaced. That resulted in two seams days later starting to fall apart. The seams could not be fixed, so new carpeting was fully installed in one bedroom and partially installed in the other. That resulted in another seam days later starting to fall apart. The manager told me that the maker of the carpeting and padding, Mohawk Carpeting would not reimburse Christian Flooring. This means that the blame is fully on Christian Flooring. Christian Flooring does not want to lose any more money on us and refuses to even talk to us now. --Problems on the stairs presented later.
"The member purchased VCT tile from our store for installation in their kitchen. At the time of purchase, they specifically stated that their contractor (who was doing other carpentry work for them) was going to install the plywood underlayment required for the installation. We installed the tile over the supplied underlayment. Several weeks late, visible irregularities appeared in the floor. We inspected the floor on 2 occasions. There were no deficiencies in the work we performed. There are problems with movement with either the underlayment or the subfloor below it which are telegraphing to the surface. We have advised her that these problems need to be addressed by the contractor who installed the underlayment. The gas range, a professional model, did present difficulties reinstalling. We have advised her that we will pay for a professional reinstallation at our expense. We have further suggested that she have the job inspected by a Certified Independent Flooring Inspector. Should the findings of such an inspection demonstrate that our installation as contracted is the cause of the failure of the floor, we will gladly replace the floor and underlayment at our expense and reimburse the inspection fee. -Dennis Permoda, President"
