"You guys were wonderful to work with and I hope you are happy with the work and results. Thank you!!"
WE HAD THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE VINYL SIDED, CAPPED ALL THE SOFFITS ENTIRE HOUSE, PORTICO AND INSTALLED NEW LEADERS AND GUTTERS. MIKE THE OWNER CAME TO THE HOUSE ON TIME AND WAS ABOVE PROFESSIONAL. WE HAD GOTTEN A COUPLE OF ESTIMATES AND MIKE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO COME INTO THE HOUSE AND SIT DOWN FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME AND EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO US AND MADE SURE WE UNDERSTOOD THE SCOPE OF THE JOB. THE CREW WAS OUTSTANDING THEY KNEW WITHOUT BEING TOLD WHAT HAD TO BE DONE THEY MADE SURE THE JOB WAS PERFECT RIGHT DOWN TO THE CLEAN-UP. MIKE CAME TO THE PROJECT MADE SURE I WAS SATISFIED AND THE JOB WAS CORRECTLY BEING DONE. MIKE WAS IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH ME. AFTER THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED MIKE CAME TO MY HOME AND MIKE SPOTTED SOMETHING I NEVER SAW THAT HE DIDN'T LIKE AND HAD HIS CREW COME BACK AND FIX IT. I DIDN'T THINK IS WAS A BIG DEAL BUT MIKE WOULD NOT HEAR OF IT.
AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED MIKE GERVASI "WENT THE EXTRA MILE" TO EARN MY RESPECT AND THE JOB. THANK YOU MIKE"Absolutely was my pleasure to take care of you. This is how I hope all jobs go in a perfect world. Thank you for the opportunity"
"Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. I hope you that you see at least the presumed savings on your fuel costs. And you should be much more comfortable. Thanks very much"
"How would you even remember this from 2013 without ever responding to any of my follow up calls and emails. What a shame that you feel it necessary to blame me for your own disinterest. YOU did not follow up on my advice and because of that your energy bills were at least 30% higher for TWO heating seasons. I can take a critique but outright false report??? Sorry. Angie's List again looking to intentionally smear my company's A profile by dredging up a telephone interview from a client from two years ago that bought nothing and never intended to do work and jamming a review on my profile. Nice going both of you. NONSENSE. You should both also be ashamed of yourself. Shame on you Angie's List which is why I won't advertise with you anymore. You spoiled a great thing. Sure I am not alone."
"I really find this to be one of most arrogant, ignorant and disrespectful comments ever on both this client and Angie's List behalf. First of all I offer no services concerning venting. I doubt that this client even remembers the visit. Angie's intentionally looked to crowbar a negative review from someone who had no intention of writing one. The visit was so many months ago that it is impossible to get an accurate picture. Let's see, something scientific for $59 which every penny went to Angie's. What did you expect? Get a job for free? We have demanded in the past that Angie's not force clients from ancient history to sponsor these types of reviews. They directly conflict with the whole intention of this website; that clients can write reviews on their own based on the experience. Both the client and Angie's should be ashamed of themselves to allow this attempt to tarnish the image of a company that clearly (based on the other reviews and ratings) always does a great job. You should be embarrassed as well. We are embarrassed for you. I give the client and Angie's an F."
"Thanks for the feedback. I do not understand the C quality rating and B overall you gave as I pointed out to you the inadequate kitchen baseboard. It is in my notes. I am not a plumbing/heating company. All of the insulation deficiencies were noted as well and would greatly improve comfort and efficiency in your home, especially based on its age. You also only gave me limited time as you had business call to handle while I was there after a number of cancelled/rescheduled appointments. I am glad you feel your kitchen issue is better but this is only one item of a group of things you could/should do, all of which would pay for themselves based on fuel/energy cost savings."
"Thanks for the feedback. The issues with your home are typical of the many homes I visit. As far as your expectations, I followed up numerous times and was never given the opportunity to come back and sit with you to discuss the project, pricing or alternatives. I hope you get your issues resolved by the others. I would be curious to know what was different. Were they also able to offer you the rebates and incentives I mentioned were available and that I was certified to offer?"
"Now that's great news. I know you will see a significant savings in oil expense and greater comfort this winter. Thanks for trusting me!"
As with every job, things come up. In this case, my concerns were about trim materials being used that were not up to my standards, and insisting on no seams in the siding, or at least as few seams as possible, which requires longer siding pieces (at an extra cost) and care on the installer's part. Mike was always responsive to my concerns. He will bend over backwards to make sure that the work and finished product is to the homeowner's satisfaction. And it must be said that my concerns were never about the quality of the installation, which was expert, nor about a worry that Mike would not work hard to honor my requests. The foreman, Santos, knows his stuff and was detail oriented, which was a relief. His crew also finished an expert job ahead of schedule. They left my home spotless at the end of each work day, and at the completion of the job.
As always, it's best for the homeowner to be as educated as possible about products; and as I have learned on this project, there are many options for siding and especially for trim. Mike spends a lot of time talking through all of those details. The more you as a consumer know, the more he will be able to help you get what you want. Mike and his crew will do whatever is needed to get it right, even if it means redoing something. That is rare.
All things considered, don't waste too much time talking to other contractors: just hire Mike Gervasi and you won't be disappointed.
"It was a privilege to earn your business and I was happy to make sure you got what you wanted. Thank you for the kind words and complements."
Work was started right when Mike said it would be, the men were there everyday until job was finished they were neat, cleaned up after they were done each day, Mike was there everyday to make sure we were pleased with the work. He really cares about his customers and goes above and beyond, we got 4 estimates and we felt that Mike was the best and very honest with his prices and did exactly what he said he was going to do.
We would highly recommend him highly.
"Thank you for the kind words. It really makes me feel good when the right things happen. Your home turned out great and I am flattered, thank you for the opportunity"
"I do not understand this customers issue. A complete and thorough assessment was provided addressing numerous issues with the home that needed badly to be addressed and itemized pricing. We also offered ways to utilize existing programs for a rebates and incentives. After two weeks he finally responded (from 1/30/2014 to 2/11/2014) with a questions about one small $600 item from the complete project list. Another 4 days passed and I contact you again (2/15/2014) and there was no reply. If you would have responded to me I could have answered any remaining questions you had. Instead you imply that I did not provide good service to you which is completely false. Please be fair before writing things like this. If you chose someone else, that's fine and good luck but your home needs considerable work, like with the insulation (existing) installed completely wrong, which I pointed out. I have left you another message to discuss this, you did not answer.."
The installation was performed.
Several days later I looked over the job. Now here is where you sometimes get to see a professional shine. I felt that the depth of foam we agreed on was not adequately applied. I talked to Mike on this matter and he immediately agreed that he and the supervisor of the installation team would come over to check on the matter. He called me immediately after the inspection and stated he and the supervisor agreed it was not to our specifications and that they would remedy the situation immediately and to my total satisfaction. Again, his team was highly flexible and indeed had to reschedule once due to water in the crawl. Due to the installation problem the supervisor stayed on site with the team and directed the workers on the requirements to resolve the foam coverage. The job was completed. He followed up with me after the job and I can say I am extremely happy with the results. Nobody likes having to have things worked on again but having a problem resolved with the concern, quickness, willingness and in the manner as it was in this case - Mike represented his professionalism, reliability and ability in getting the job done and done right. I can tell you Mike is A-1 in my review and I would highly recommend Mike on ANY job.
"Thank you so much. Nothing makes me happier than having a customer feel this good about a project."
It took awhile to complete this job to my satisfaction but the final leg was completed last week (Friday, June 6, 2014) by a thoroughly professional and efficient team dispatched by Egg Energy Systems to remove the last of the old insulation. I must say that when Egg Energy Systems says "We are not done with a job until the customer is satisfied", they really mean it. Michael Gervasi is true to his word and I appreciate that very much.
We definitely felt the improvements in comfort levels this past winter (a brutal one at best) because of the work performed by Egg Energy Systems on this 100+ year old house. I got a lot more mileage out of the wood stove than any time in the past likely due to the effect the insulation had on the retention of heat. In years past the further you got from the wood stove the colder the the area would be. This past winter the heat dissapation was noticeably diminished.
My overall rating would be an A- of B+ but there are no radio buttons of those values so I gave it a B.
"Thank you and I am happy that we were able to make a difference and I appreciate your patience with the process."
